Some songs just make me tear up, not really being upset or sad, just so beautiful, that you can almost feel exactly what the artist/writer felt when they were making the song...

Or... They remind you of someone or something that just makes you feel like those times.

What are those songs for you?

Some of my emotional Songs are...
The Way you look tonight - Tony Bennett
I wanna know what love is - Foreigner
Truly - Lionel Richie
Still - Lionel Richie
Suddenly - Olivia Newton John
The Dance - Garth Brooks
Bridge over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkel
Amazed - Lonestar
Kiss me now - Lila McCann (me and my wifes song)
I do cherish you - 98 Degrees
Crazy for you - Madonna

There are several more....

I'm not exactly sure I tear up, but this is about as close as I get...

Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad - Meatloaf
City Of New Orleans - Willie
A Pirate Looks At Forty - Jimmy
Graduation - Vitamin C
The Dark End Of The Street - The Commitments
The Little Drummer Boy - Bob Seger

But the one that always gets me the most, is...

Amazing Grace - LeAnn Rimes

Insane in the brain,
Bodies
Bat out of Hell
You Oughta Know

All of these song seem to hit me emotionally! but they don't bring a tear to my eye.

Although "Rock Star" does from time to time because I know that song is telling me I could have been a Rock Star but I let it slip by me.

Shoot Steve, yer younger than Mick and Keith -- get yer butt in gear, and jump in the fray...

The first few times I sang Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The USA" I got REALLY choked up. I appreciate our men and women in the armed forces and their service to our country. The last time I sang that song in public a woman came up to me and thanked me. Her father was a career military man and her brother was serving in Iraq. She was very moved by the song. There is one or two more I can't think of right now.

Don't Cry Daddy - Elvis ( WAY in front. Even Goldsboro's "Honey" doesn't come close)

Leader Of The Band - Dan Fogelburg

Break It To Me Gently - the Juice Newton version

Holly Holy - Neil Diamond, but only the live version, or the way I sing it.

My Way - The Elvis version

If I Can Dream - Elvis again

Impossible Dream - Robert Goulet

I've Gotta Be Me - Sammy Davis Jr., big band version

Believe it or not, In My Room, by The Beach Boys - I can remember being IN my room, and feeling just that way.....

All these old guys here and not one of them mentioned, Just about any song by "RED SOVINE"

Green Onions makes me tear up...get it?...onions. Ok, I have nuttin'.

Ok, here's one I really like that moves me...

Cass Elliot..."Make Your Own Kind Of Music"

Several others, I'm sure, but I can't think of them right now. Good post, Groovielou!

I Can Only Imagine is definately on the list!

Larry Norman's "Somewhere Out There"
"The Dance" Garth Brooks
Larry Norman's "I Hope I See You In Heaven"
Colin Raye's "Love Me"

Also, I feel like crying when I have to play "The Hokey Pokey" "The Chicken Dance" "Mr. Roboto"

I don't have any that tear me up, but I do have some that give me goose bumps and send a little chill down my spine:

Out There - Sister Hazel
The Spirit Carries On - Dream Theater
Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again - Sarah Brightman (from Phantom of the Opera)
Wasted - Carrie Underwood
What If I Stumble - dcTalk

Peter Cetera comes to mind. :)

Then there's Eddy Arnold
Porter Wagoner/Dolly Parton
Charlie Pride
The Moody Blues
Buck Owens
Sonny James

All of these artists have songs that are very emotional, for me at least. :)

Give yourself a hi Five

Heartland - I Loved Her First

Chuck Wicks - Stealing Cinderella

Brad Paisley - Letter To Me

Empty Spaces by SR-71 is one that most probably haven't heard but it reminds me of my ex-girlfriend and is just a great song.

God Bless The USA hits me hard too because my stepdad (who passed away several years ago) was a veteran.

That is a great tune.

I have interviewed Mitch Allen several times, he is one funny and talented guy.

Most of the ones that bring out emotion are country songs such as: Garth Brooks - If Tomorrow Never Comes
Billy Dean - If There Hadn't Been You
Everly Brothers - Let It Be Me
Dance with my father is a real tear jerker too. Thanks Jon
