Folks,

Am reviewing a CD from this group. Pop 'Til You Drop. It was on the request list for a forthcoming HS grad party. I'd never heard of them before.

Is it me? I'm actually enjoying this stuff. :D

Thoughts?

OH my Goodness I think we have a candidate for High School Musical. Fred Im not used to this sensitive side of you lol. Next thing you'll be saying you are listening to Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys or Little Jimmy Dickens.

The A*Teens were bigger years ago but actually haven't heard much from them with all of the other competition being around...High School Musical, Hannah Montana etc... But, I found this for you Fred...a little extra reading material if you have time.

When they first came out around 1999, all of their songs were ABBA covers - that was their niche (2 teen guys, 2 teen girls... the "A" in the group's name refers to ABBA).

As much as I hate to admit it publicly, "Floorfiller" on that 'Pop 'Til You Drop' CD is one of my favorites. I just wish it had actually been a floor-filler here in the states - the lyrics could almost be a primer for new DJs.

Thanks guys. :)

The thing I enjoyed about it was the fact that it was clean and actually had dance music in it. And it isn't rap. I can't stand rap.

Not sure which songs the pups want so I got the whole CD. Songs weren't specified on the music list.

I still play their version of Dancing Queen.

Their song seems to have more "body" than the original ABBA version with today's equipment.

It packs the dance floor for me. It's great at weddings.
