Bose B1 Question

Ok I was thinking of retiring my EV Super HEAVY powered sub and was looking at the Bose B1 Base package w/ powerlite amp. (NOTE: I will not be using the Bose Sticks the bass bins will be used with my RCF's)
A few questions:
#1 I have used this sub for the past 4 years it is wonderful http://www.samash.com/catalog/showitem.asp?ItemID=19287
How much bass will I get from the 2 B1's? Would it be comparable?

#2 How do these hold up..I do 30-35 weddings a year do they travel well?

made to work w/ bose pas L1 model 1 or 2. If you use it w/ something else the result is????
 
Ray, I've had my L1 system only since early March (nine dances) so I can't personally testify to their longevity, but everything that I hear from other users, including Cap Capello and DJ Richard in New Zealand, indicates that it will not be a problem. I do mostly weddings and I am getting all I need and more out of one stick and two subs. Of course the two subs can be stacked for extra base response.
I believe that if you have need for extra bass occasionally, you can use your old powered sub and then feed from it to the Bose sticks, but Cap would be the best person to confirm this.
My back loves my Bose.
 
In my humble opinion, the L1/B1 combo is capable of replicating similar bass as a stick mounted speaker system. If you are currently using stick speakers with a big heavy sub, the Bose powered sub will not come close to your expectations.

Your opinions may vary. Would recommend taking a test drive yourself first.
 
Just to clarify I will not be using the L1's I will be using my RCF's was just looking at the bass bins. Craig, Thanks for the response I was kind of trying to get non biased answers no offense to Cap was looking to see what kind of Bass you can get from 2 B1s w/ amp or if you need more Thanks

That was my gist...that the bins are designed to accompany the non bass producing towers...if you are already using speakers that actually produce some bass, adding Bose bins would be expensively underwhelming IMHO. If your ear is already trained for throbbing bass, you may need to stick to something bigger and bulkier. I would rather carry 1 heavy EV than 6 bins, LOL.
 
RCF baby I agree it is the sensible match. I think Ben can hook you up. The Bose B1 do well with the EQ'd system it accompanys but it would pale in comparison to your tops bass making them more likely a proper mid. Not sure if you remember the 501's for home use that had the pre set EQ. Many bought the speakers and opted out on the EQ. They sounded like garbage without that EQ and likely this system fine tuned to work together seperate would not be a pleasant experience. We need proper assistance when doing our part in being the help.:sqwink::rofl::rofl::sqlaugh::sqlaugh:
