Need help with this

I have a client who is so great. I'm really wanting to do a favor for her and make her reception even better. They also own a business which can result in corporate business.

She is have a friend who is a professional piano player for a music company in one of our local cities. She is renting a Keyboard for him I would love to be able to run this key board either through my sound system to my Bose or at least have it go through one of my bose for a direct hookup.

Excuse my lack of expertise here can anyone see by the pic how I may be able to do this. I told her no promises but I would see if I can do this for her. She hadn't even thought about it. Here is the pic.

I had to make it a zip file it was to big. With the large pic you can see the inputs. I think I have and idea but not sure.

I think I see a 1/4" output on the back. Left and right. If you go to SamAsh, Radio Shack or Guitar Center , you can get a 25' cable. 1/4" on one side RCA on the other end. Plug the RCA end into an empty channel on your mixer. This should work. I do this when I run audio from my video rig.

Or if you have USB on you mixer you can run out that way I believe

If you can, run a balanced connection. Depending on the way the electricity is run, you could get an electrical hum without a balanced connection. Since the piano only has 1/4" outs, you could run a DI box from the piano and then run an XLR into a mic input in your mixer, or straight to the Bose.

You can go quarter inch out on just about most decent professional keyboards, and you could either go direct to bose, or use a RCA/1/4 inch adapter to your mixer

This should be very easy for you to be able to please this client of yours

That is a 1/4 or xlr correct. Very easy then just get the 1/4 y adapter to 1/4 in or xlr and run it in that way. Did that before worked great. Used to have the same mixer.

Ok I have another Idea that I think that might work. For this client I'm just doing the reception. So my lavalier will be free. I have ran my lavilier through that mic setup before On this mixer. I have a 1/4 hookup that can go into a guitar that can make it wirless do you think that this would work. That way no cords or wires and the system would be wireless over the bose.

Dave - what I do is patch a mixer into my mixer I have 2 to choose from; a Behringer UB802 or a Yamaha MG10. Both have 1/4" out. I've run a cable out of input 5 (line) on my Numark CM200usb (male rca to 1/4") and plug this into the main outs on the mixer....

The Behriger is $40; the Yamaha...around $100

That gives me a myriad of options of xtra lav mics, guitars, keyboards, cassette decks, projector.....

plus you have a back up jut in case....


I've never had a hum issue at all.....

The only concern in plugging it into the mic line is that the signal might be a bit "hot"

I rarely use a mixer. I usually plug the instrument right into a system.
but either way, it will be easy. wireless or wired. feel free to give me a call if you need assistance.
