One of our djs did a wedding tonight for a very young and progressive couple at a rooftop type venue.
Well about 50 minutes into the reception the B&G both get kicked out of the venue for, you guessed it, lighting up a bowl. And the MOG wants a portion of their money back.. is she crazy? She must have been smoking too

I agree she must be high too..... no way would I be refunding just because they were stupid enough to lite-up a bong.... and got caught too. Stupid is as Stupid Does....

This oughta be good...Bring that situation to a NJ judge....hehehe....they will throw that case out so fast their heads will spin! thats funny.

Hey,

If you don't have a "hippie lettuce" addendum in your contract, you should.

Dave

ps. Don't forget "chronic" in there too.

Let me play the Devil's advocate here for a minute: Why should they kick her out? They rented the place for a specified period and should be able to do as they please. My landlord has nothing in the lease that states I cannot light up a bowl in my bedroom, or shoot up heroine for that matter. Did the catering halls contract specify no smoking, snorting or shooting up? :sqconfused:

Every DJ (and catering hall) should have a clause in their contract about illegal activity. If illegal activity is going on at the event you can load out at your option. Where's Cap? I'm sure he has an example in his contract. :)

Okay before yous go getting all crazy on me, I'm not siding with the potheaded bride, I'm just saying giving you something to think about.

Yes, that is all true... but it wasn't the DJ Company that kicked her out it was the venue and the MOB has the audacity to ask the DJ Company for compensation.... I could understand the MOB wanting money back from the venue though...

Good thing I didn't have my reception there -- we'd all still be in jail 20 years later :sqerr:

Walk in either of the bathrooms, and there were joints going, lines being cut, and people having sex in the stalls -- pretty fun party, from what I recall

Funniest part, the town judge was there (he performed the ceremony). He didn't seem to mind -- ok, so he was a friend of the family ;)

I missed that part, it was her actions that caused the party to be ended early. No fault of the DJ thus no refund!

No Soup For You!

I would love to see her before the Judge explaing that her child's wedding was ruined by the reception hall and DJ because the B& G were smoking and that she deserves a refund from the DJ. I would pay to watch that.

PPV Presents:

The Half Baked Bride's Mother vs. DJ Super Clean

Bailiff: All Rise.... now comes before this court the case of the half baked bride vs DJ Super Clean... you may be seated.

Judge: I have read the complaint and despite all the potato chip grease I understand that your daughter's wedding reception was ruined by this Mr. DJ Super Clean because the Venue kicked her out for smoking a bong... is that correct?

Mr DJ Super Clean. Do you own and operate the venue in which the reception took place?

DJ Super Clean: No your honor.

{bang bang}

Judge: Case dismissed... officer arrest the daughter for illicit drug use.

See you next time in.... The Peoples Court

(cue judicial sounding music)

HaHa.....That sounds like "weddingstock":sqlaugh:

You said a rooftop type venue, so I'm guessing this was a hotel of sorts, I hope that there weren't any bedrooms to rent at this facility, because then they would have to throw out half the people who rent the rooms for illegal activities!!! Hmmmmmm news at 11 business goes bankrupt. (Duh) But on the other hand they may have signed a contracted agreement against illegal drugs.
