All of us have a few sing along songs we use to get the crowd into anniversaries, birthdays, so on, whats yours

my fav is I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor

B I N G O, B I N G O, and Bingo was his name oh...

Just kidding. I really don't do the sing-alongs.

Since I'm primarily a karaoke host, they're ALL sing alongs. However, the get 'em rolling group songs:

The official karaoke starter song- Sweet Caroline

The official I Hate My Boyfriend Song- I Will Survive.

The official "Seat Singers" song- YMCA ( with interprative hand work)

The official Host In The Bathroom/Too Many Drunks Song- Paradise By The ( make me heave) Dash Board Light

The official Everyone's Gotta Sing It Song- New York, New York ( to include Rockettes high kick line)

I never sing it over the mic but the crowd here always sings and dances to "Shout". You know the version from animal house. I always tell them " You know the song now let me see you dance the dance". I almost always get a packed dance floor. And in a " You know your a redneck when type of voice I'll say if your dancing in your seat, then to the dance floor bring your feet. The funny part is it gets smiles and dancers.

I used to close with "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" in the clubs of England and Norway (when the British Marines and Squaddies were in town)

I did in San Francisco too

It was great hearing all the drunks whistling down the road....

At the right jobs in the US I like to try some different things and believe it or not "Yellow Submarine" works ten minutes into a cleared dance floor - you know weddings ;)

Songs

any Jimmy Buffett song
Friends in low places
Sweet Caroline
Hey Baby
Don't start believing since the Soparanos

Although we don't encourage the sing-a-longs actively, we find that the crowd will encourage themselves along quite nicely to many of the previously mentioned and also:

You Never Even Called Me By My Name - performed by David Allan Coe
Family Tradition - Hank Williams Jr.
