Well, maybe it's 'cause I'm an old fart. Or perhaps it's because Mom raised me better. I don't stare. And I don't act like a hungry dog in a meat market when womenfolk are around. It ain't polite.

Wolfie was raised the old-school way. Ya smile and give the womenfolk a big hug. Ya don't stare and drool. :)

Charlene, take it as a huge compliment and carry on.

I'm a huge flirt, and I'm an "eye guy" too. I love beautiful, expressive eyes on women! I often compliment ladies on their eyes. Does that make me a perv? No! (It's the OTHER things that make me a perv! :D)

Maybe there's more to the story, but I don't see anything wrong here.

did he make you feel uncomfortable other than just looking? I'd keep him at arms length and do the job you never know he could turn out to be a terrific client after the initial meeting, by all means though if he says something or tries to score a date, I'd be leery. I'd take his deposit and do most of the work remotely without face to face meetings as much as possible.

Do you have a business partner or someone who could pose as such to accompany you to meetings with Client "X"? That may be a suggestion.

Are you married?? maybe you could bring your husband to one of the meetings (after client x signs the contract and pays. If you are married (or have a steady bf) Im sure your husband knows he has an attractive wife and im sure you could convince him to come with you to a meeting or two just in case.

But then i must regress to my very first thought on your post, you're a DJ right? You can't tell me you've never been hit on, stared at or gawked at while playing have you?

Take the money, do a good job on the project and bring a buddy if you still stay uncomfortable

Just to update everyone. I have decided to take the job. With conditions of course. I appreciate all of your comments. It did help tremendously.

I guess its like momma's comment from Forest Gump. "Life is Like a Box of Chocolates...."
and this one...he was a piece..

Honestly, like one person said..the economy isn't good and the money is...I can tolerate some crap, at least enough to get this site done.

It's not too many pages...I can knock this out in less than 2 weeks if he doesn't make too many changes and doesn't change the original agreement we are golden.

So cross your fingers for me, I'm picking up the deposit check Monday!

Seriously though, just avoid meetings at his place (unless there are other people present). A woman at Camp Mobile Beat told a story of a meeting with a wedding couple at their home, however when she showed up only the groom-to-be was there. Things got creepy really fast and she got out asap.
 
I have to worry about my daughter in situations such as that. She's 24, 4'9" tall, and an IRS field agent. She looks as though she would be in high school although I wouldn't want to get her pissed off. She does field audits and you can imagine how pissed and macho some guys might get. They do have strict rules on how to handle themselves. Not comfortable, the audit don't happen. They still owe the government though.
