Someone here used Legion, I believe, and was fairly happy with them, as I recall.... though I don't remember who it was.

EDIT... LOL, I hadn't read Barry's posts....

I just read this through again and as usual Barry cracks me up. He is the kid in your class that puts pencils up his nose when the teacher is writing on the blackboard and eats bugs to get girls to scream. Thank you sir! I appreciate your humor.

Barry, I'd like to know if anyone has complained about the sound quality of your system or made any negative comments? What I mean is anyone from any of the events like people in the audience, a bride, groom or someone from a party you did or bar you have played music at. Thanks

As far as the Yamaha subs go, if they had crossovers I would consider them, but I don't want to have to buy and then carry around another piece of gear. I have to have a sub with a built in crossover. I may get the Cerwin Vega suggested in another thread, but I wanted to do my homework first and look around a bit before making the final decision. That's why I was looking around and asking about the Madisons. Even though I don't want an 18" bulky, heavy sub, I may get one anyways. I may end up having to drive a minivan or SUV whether I like it or not. I'm having a hard time deciding what to do so I'm taking my time and looking around.

When you're thinking passive cabinets - this is really a flawed idea.

While the B52 I'm selling does have a crossover, I have never used it because it requires that you run your main amp very very hard... and that's not efficient. I'd rather run 2 amps, smaller one for tops and stronger for subs and a simple 1u active crossover.

That creates much more clarity in your sound because the amps are laser focused on the frequencies that need to be reproduced and the limited reserves peak power reserves of the capacitors are not sent crazy looking to reproduce both high and low peaks.... And when your amps run out of power reserves... they clip and distort - > damaging speakers.

And finally my last two crossovers were both 1u and under 3 lbs (DOD SR835II & a RANE Mojo MX22)

Actually no.. Joe my Buddy who heard them for the first time was real surprised and he wasn't giving me lip service. My complaint with the speakers was the plastic connector plate and they are a little harsh so I drop out the 1 megahertz on the mixer and problem solved. I know the Madisons are a better grade and the problems with the plastic handles and connectors are addressed in the Madisons. The ever important part customer service.....Survey says......EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Thats the bad part, call them the rarely answer leave a message they won't call back. What you need to ask yourself is what price can you put on service..

Would you pay a couple hundred dollars more for good service, can you afford bad service??? Madison speakers are better than most think, the subs love em, Service well that's the problem...

On a side note in our company we have and use EV Eliminator's Atlas's (MTX) several sets of that brand actually and some Peavey subs. I would rather use my Legion's over the Peaveys or The Atlas's period. I like them but once again service
