Damn, that's nice...

Scotch, you freekin amaze me. I admire folks with talent.

But now you're going to have to do 300 more for all the members here who want you to design a card...(hint, hint).

I doubt I'll be inundated with requests. The doller is doing pretty poorly against the UK pound. Most people won't pay my prices, even though I charge considerably less than professional logo and design companies. However, if anyone wants a quote, feel free to PM me. I am rather busy at the moment though.

p.s. Thank you for the compliment. :)

I asked first. He already did my logo for me, so I should get first... :sqlaugh:

Actually, I didn't. Your logo is extremely similar to a logo sample I provided to you. You must have got someone else to do it for you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

As previously mentioned I am extremely busy, but if anyone wants a quote and added to the list, then please PM me with full details of what you're looking for, and also your email address. Despite providing a free sample earlier I no longer provide free spec work samples. I charge 50% retainer up front with the remaining balance payable if you wish to purchase the design. Full details can be provided via email once the PM is received.

i'll redo mine soon ! lol yeah when I am dead I think :(

Scotch,

Tyrone had me create this logo. The original submission was the on below.
It was changed at his request.

.................

I am busy as well and usually only respond to requests from those that I have established a sort of knowledge of or friendship with here on the boards.

I had too many "time wasters" in the form of teens, hobbyists, people that have me design one way and then do a 180 and those that weren't as ready to spend the cash as they initially implied.

I won't promise that I can take on every project, but here's the link to my hobby page.

Yep, me too. Which is why it's cash upfront (50%) for me now. I wouldn't take on DJ work without a retainer, graphic design is no different. Another change to the way I work is I no longer provide a large batch of different samples and concepts. I only take on a design if there is enough information to get a good grasp of what people are after, I'll then provide the one design based on their exact requirements. I don't mind making alterations to get it just right, but I won't mess around with half a dozen different design concepts per client anymore. I much prefer working to someones specific requirements than having to second guess what they may be after. I think this was the main reason I enjoyed doing Tom (goodknight DJ's) logo....he knew exactly the look he was after, which made the project a lot more fun.

Since I changed the way I do things I've been busier than ever and I'm enjoying it a lot more. :)

Ok guys for about 25 bucks I decided to just go with a normal card. The people that do the foil never called back and I was not about to send all the money if they could not tell me if they could even do the card this is for about 100 cards. My wife really likes it and all the women I should at work liked it quite a bit and I was asking for honesty. Here is the final product I made the rose smaller I think it looks better and gave the Name a brushed metal look. I also changed the wording to reflect my Bose. If I don't like them or they suck then I'm only out 25 bucks. But I do like this design. I have put the red rose below on our site thus my reason for wanting this rose. I also decided to go with my domain address. Basically with a bunch of cards printed with my charter address it gave me no control of my internet or who I use. This way If I go with another internet company in the future I won't worry about the addy. Plus as our little brother said a few days ago it does look more professional.

Dave it looks awesome I liked the colors. Your phone number needed to be bigger though as its tough for this blind man to read even on here.

Okay in many cases I have been very adamant about exactly what I wanted until by accident Hank found a design I could have never imagined I would use but along with the Catch Phrase I was had from Our Talent. I was only leary of what the old folks might think of it. IT being a cross between tagging letters and sort of like stone aged moon surfaced lettering. I felt they might not be able to associate with it ahd therefore might instantly step back. I wasnt all that sure Brides would like it or even corporate and so I had some brides check it out as well as some Corporate folks and then my mom and several elderly folks. They all raved about it being cool yeah even my Mom and a lady client who was 79 yrs old. Hank had given two other ideas and over and over the votes from each group was unanimous for the current one. One might ask why am I changing it. Theres always time for refreshment although I originally wanted Hank to merely just add the colors changes to the current logo and put it inside an oval with the color schemed thin ring around it. Currently I am in fulltime DJ mode and want to tighten things up including a new facelift for my site. With more color to work for all potentials. Scotch I gave a fairly thorough description of what I wanted yet I wanted the idea to flow from my name and the many facets for it. Many times I have offended folks cause they wanted some artistic room for expression. I could nearly Draw some ideas but unfortunately I cant put it into photoshop like some can. Nor can I build my website. I will be working on this in the next few yrs as I have much more time for production work at home.etc. Scotch would you like more details?:sqwink:

If I'm honest....yes!. I still have no idea what kind of design you're seeing in your minds eye. You've described your current logo, but not what you wish in a new logo (unless I've missed something?)

Do you mean this part?

I originally wanted Hank to merely just add the colors changes to the current logo and put it inside an oval with the color schemed thin ring around it.

If you could PM me it would be appreciated. I get an email notification when I'm PM'd, it'll let me know you've responded as I don't get a chance to check the forum's as much as I'd like.

Sorry Hank...

I knew that the guy who did mine was on the boards... Tyrone feels like a donkey. Hank did mine and did a great job... nice to know there is so much talent on our site.

IMO it's best to have a mission statement first before having a logo designed. The logo should represent your mission statement. I'm not the most experienced graphic designer, but I have a two year degree and have designed a few logos. I would ask lots of questions about your biz before attempting any designs. The same way a wedding DJ would interview the B&G.
