Would you send a Send Out Card in this instance?

I'm wanting to send out a Send Out Card to a client... my first client since buying my points for SOC... I'm not sure it is a good idea. If you read this thread:

You will see my apprehension. At the same time, if it would be appreciated, I would love to send one.... any ideas on how to make this work?
 
I would send one. As I said in the thread the situation was beyond your control

Papa,

I don't think you can go wrong by sending a card that expresses a sincere emotion. Not many people would. I like the "sting" comment by Hank. Send some brownies or cookies as mentioned above, kids were involved. "I hope these brownies help to take some of the "sting" away".

Bad part is, I only manged to get one photo from the event and I don't think it even had the client's son in it... I would have made it a Picture Plus card.... and, I wouldn't normally spend on brownies, but this might be the exception.
 
Chuck - if I may make a suggestion that hasn't been made yet -

Call the clients and explain that you would like to send them a card thanking them for their business and that you would like to personalize it by adding a family picture likeness. Ask the Mom or Dad if they can just email you a .jpeg file of an existing family photo, and then edit it in photoshop or Paint, or whatever program you would use to do such a thing, and add the photo as you normally would to the card.

Then send the card as you normally would along with the "sting" suggestion that Hank made above.

Your personal touch expressing sorrow for the incident and gratitude for the client's business can't miss.

Greg, that would mean that I would need a clue about photo editing.... I don't... I only barely can use Picassa... :sqerr::sqembarrassed:
 
Not to offend anyone here but the idea of a card is the surprise they get when they receive it in the mail. If you tell them it's coming you kind of defeat that surprise.

I wouldn't even worry about the picture plus. A simple card with a heart felt thank you goes along way. Cookies are always a nice idea but not necessary. Just do what you would appreciate if someone did it for you.
 
Just send them the card and send me the damn brownies.:sqeek:

I think I'll send myself a card.:sqconfused:

I know. I was referring to what Greg recommended. I have not yet sent the card.
 
Sorry, I meant to post a follow up in THIS thread, not the other one...

I did NOT send a Send Out Card. The reason was, in the end, that I wanted to send them 2 tickets to the movies. Remember, I buy them 50 at a time, so they only cost me $7 each. In the note I sent I told the mom to take Max to the movies with them.

Well, I woke up this morning to find out that I actually got a referral from the mother. She told someone about me and they called, albeit at 4AM.....

So, even though I didn't send a Send Out Card, I imagine the result may well have been the same.

Just thought I would give you all a follow up.
