Update on the Pioneer - Serato deal?

Back in July, Alpha-Theta, owner of Pioneer DJ announced they would be acquiring Serato. This really dismayed Jack O'Donnell, owner of InMusic (parent company of Numark, Denon DJ, Rane, Alto Professional, Stanton, ION and more). In fact, the last I knew, he was suing to block the deal in New Zealand (Serato's home country). His concern is that Serato would lose its independence and no longer work with controller manufacturers that compete with Pioneer (e.g. his Rane, Denon and Numark brands). I have not seen any updates on this story in a while. Has anyone else?

I disagree that this is something “We live in now”. This has always happened; AT&T, Standard Oil, US Steel are huge examples in the last 100 years. I’m sure there are much smaller takeover attempts we’ve never heard of.

It’s always been a challenge in capitalism. Always will be. I do believe there are instances when the government needs to step in, but in an ideal world, consumers wouldn’t support a predatory company.

Anti-trust law is being ignored repeatedly. There are fewer business, and less competition. That's not "Capitalism."
Constitutional law is being violated by the DOH repeatedly, and even flaunted. That's not capitalsim nor is it the action of a "Republic."

"Assert-Forfeiture" is the new mission of government at every level. You're not a consumer - you're a "target."
Good luck with your electric car, heat pump, and non-gas stove. :)
