For that price those are reconditioned whatever that means. Is that the same as refurbished? How good are they and would you buy them?

They sound very good. They had them at the DJExpo 2 years ago. I didn't notice the reconditioned, but this is how they are described:

Factory Refurbished/Reconditioned
Sometimes known as "B-Stock", these products are factory inspected and carefully repackaged by the manufacturer. Most are in "like new" condition, but may have slight blemishes such as rack screw marks. Factory Reconditioned products are often used at tradeshows for a short period of time or did not originally meet manufacturer specification. Reconditioned is better than refurbished, apparently. Google search returned a bunch of results.....here is one...

The basic difference between the two terms is that a refurbished item has been returned by a client or customer, cleaned up, tested, repackaged and made available for re-sale. A reconditioned product has also been returned and cleaned up, but it has also gone through extensive testing and possible repair before being repackaged and made available for re-sale.

I heard them in store just last week. Pretty nice sound to them. I would use them.

The store I was in had them brand new for sale for $429, and sales guy said he could do a bit better than that if I really wanted to buy a pair.
