I've had my eye on the Nikon D3000 a 10MP DSLR $499.00 and the D5000 a 12MP for $699.00 at the local Wal-Mart.... just have other things right now that need to be met first before I can pull the trigger....
Nice cameras, but take note that neither of these models has a built-in autofocus motor, and as a result they're not compatible with many Nikon lenses. This may or may not be a big deal, but I spoke with a photographer friend who loves Nikon products and he mentioned this as a reason to stay away from the D3000 and D5000 cameras.
I just put my Nikon d-80 up on craig's list for $700
I'd let you have it for 6 though... it comes with 3 lenses as well.. the stock lens, a fixed 2.8 for low light shooting with nice short depth of field effect, and a big honkin' tele-zoom.
also comes with a speedlight flash, and 4 gb card.
nothing wrong with it at all, I just want a Canon 5dMKII, and nikon gear will be of no use once I switch...
it's a lot of gear for the price, and it's a simple camera to use on auto, but a powerful camera for someone who knows how to shoot.
What would you like pix of?? I'm a piont and shoot type of guy, but I'll hit the yard and snap some photos..
I'll shoot some depth of field, and even some zooms for ya, as well as pix of the camera and stuff..
