Hey everybody!!!WISH YOU ALL A WONDERFUL 2009!! Hope yo'all had a wonderful new year's eve!!! Well mine went on excellent!!! It turned out to be much more than what i had expected. Of course i was kind of exhausted as i failed to have lunch that day due to work and ended up rushing to the venue and setting up my stuff and sound check n stuff. Later i thought of grabbin a drink at the bar and found to my shock that the bar too was being redecorated for another new year bash there..so it was officially closed! I ended up drinkin water the whole show.
Well anyway comin to the details. I was pretty okay at first with the RnB and hiphop line up and just as i had expected..didnt have anyone on the floor in the beginning...but later as i found some of them shakin a leg in the ends i took up my playlist to the next level and moved to some latina and old school hiphop that i luv'd groovin too..and found a few souls move to the floor. Of course i told my DMX operator to control the lights as my instructions. Slowly as the crowd starting seeping in and as the beers started to flow in..the floor increased and i was mixing as though possessed at one instance.. Guess what.. i was live mixing for almost a 2 hr session non-stop!!!! Dont know what got into me..i just through the genre-type playlist outta the window and was wildly mixing to keep the crowd on the floor.. For them to listen to electro mixed with desi(hindi) and popular retro tracks in english was quite something new.. but my attempt at this was an instant success. And then once i got the confidence of the crowd..there was no stoppin me!!
I was on fire!! And went on till around 3 in the morning and then wound up slowly and left home.. happily! Quite a way to begin this new year!
I would like to thank all of you who had helped me a lot in my hiphop playlist issue.! And the funny thing is that not even at one instant did my Virtual DJ or controller hang or act funnily..though i had cued a back up on a denon 4500. I didnt touch it at all! VDJ does rock! and so does hercules
And after seein my show, the management had offered to have me as the weekend dj for their pub/night club and told me to play on Saturday nites!!! Well its under negotiation!
