It better than sitting on the floor. The aim was OK so I guess Im happy. Might not use it for a wedding, kinda looks too industrial. This wasnt a formal event so it was OK. I'll come up with something more discreet for weddings.
Interesting, but not something I'd use. If anything, I'd be concerned with vibrations from the sub rattling things up in those lights. Although they're LEDs, there are still connections that could be broken with prolonged vibrations from a subwoofer.
Why not put them on T-bar at that level behind you? Or get some uplighting-type bases and put them back on the floor?

in certain situations. you could also get an upright to get them a little higher.
