Kanye West is a Horrible singer...

To many ads? Support ODJT and see no ads!
The Autotune is in there but we do not hear the mix very well.
Kanye West being a horrible singer is old news but he IS making millions doing it.
This tells me that you can whatever you want in America if you work at it and get off the couch.
There are so many talents out there that are doing nothing and the no talents are making a living at it. He may be horrible but he is doing it!
(BTW, I do not like KW either! but the fact is mentioned above)
 
You said it Johhny! Yeah, Kanye sounds like $hit but he IS doing it! Look at me... I had 8 years to get my Rock'n Roll anthem Fast Cars to AC/DC (which they really could have used btw) before they put out this last album... But did I? Nope... They even recorded it in my city, Vancouver! Not that I knew that until they had left but I did find the contact info for their engineer and he will be hearing from me real soon...
 
I just watched the videotape of the SNL broadcast.....and I wanted to say how much I was impressed with Kanye's performance.

1) first song-- not that great, I thought he was a cheap imitation of Usher. Had to give him props for trying though!

2) second song --- much better, seemed to have smoother vocals.

Overall, even though the singing wasn't the greatest, I thought it was OK in the context of the song.

Furthermore, I am impressed with how NEAT & TIDY this rapper's appearance is:

he doesn't look like a gang-banging, pants-sagging, ghetto thug.

My daughter loves KW because he's a "PREPPY" complete with Varsity jacket & nicely fitting clothes...he looks like an American Eagle Outfitter's advertisement!

I like KW because he's Intelligent. and clean cut.....for a rapper.

-----I guess I'm a new Kanye West fan now!!!
 
As if we really believe that is Brit... It is evident that the singer that is singing this is behind the camera and not Brit. How can her voice be so clear and no other band member or instrument is even close to the same volume in the mix? The voice is even out of sync in most of the clips..
Is this a joke on me or is this supposed to be believable?
 
I can't trash talk about Britney's singing ever since I heard her do a song live on some TV show, can't remember which one though. She sang a slow song while seated on a stool, I think it was just a single instrument backing her, she sounded great. She had very good control and her pitch was dead-on. Believe me, I was really not expecting that from her and was ready to tear her performance apart.

This is not the track I was thinking of but at least you can hear her real voice and she sounds decent:

I've seen alot of live shows from Local bands to the Rolling Stones and at a performance and voice level Kanye West is by far the worst I have ever seen

Yeah, not good...but...I didn't think she even sang when she was performing in this type of situation anyway...doesn't she have her vocal track playing anyway? I thought she just lipsynced most of the time....

Nice.. She does sound like most of the karaoke singers around here. Not joking. This is what I hear when listening to this. She was in the right place at the right time.
 
I think everyone is making too big of a deal out of this. I mostly mean the media when I say this.

Kanye's album (which I don't really care for) features him singing with the auto-tuner like Lil Wayne and all these other guys use. It goes for a certain sound. It seems like in this performance it wasn't working the way it did on the album and you hear a lot of him...singing...flat! He's not a good singer, we all knew that, but so what?

I also give him props for not whining about it and storming off the stage or something. He didn't make a big deal or cry about it or apologize and ask to give it another try. He did his best.

Would Lil Wayne be listenable without electronics enhancing his voice? Hell no.

But he had the biggest album of the year if I'm not mistaken.
