Haha, You just don't get it, do you?
Why should I get it? Ha ha.

Now let me report this and hope it helps. I decided yesterday to go online to buy a case for the tablet and this is what happened. I tried to buy it on Ebay and the payment wouldn't go through using my credit union card. I had plenty of money in there. So no problem with. I went to Amazon and tried to buy it there. It said there was an issue why I couldn't buy it there received a 800 number to call. Didn't know it was a scam until the person on the call gave up trying to get things reset for me through my online banking, which I've never done. What happened was I was told some people were trying to buy something using my account and there were 2 states where they had my email address. Please don't beat me up for this because I just focusing in on getting the item. So I was told also by this scammer that I supposedly had to finish paying for something so I could go through with my transaction. I was supposed to pay for something and I owed $200 plus $1. All a scam. They had nothing to do with Amazon.

Anyway I didn't realize till after I got off the phone that they gave me the 4 numbers before the last 4 numbers on my credit union card. Long story short they were trying to get my banking account and routing account numbers so they could try to steal money from my account. 2 great things. I don't do online banking and that account was over drawn. So they couldn't get any money from that acoount and I don't have $200 in my credit union account. I know I'm exposing a lot by telling this. Just want to say be careful all. That's why I'm telling this. When the guy saw that I couldn't get to my account online he got pissed off and told me to shut my computer down and call my bank. I did to report the incident and all they are going to do is reissue me another card. It's a hassle because now I just have to contact certain companies that I pay bills using my card the new card numbers when I get it. Just to say God looks out and thank God no money was stolen out of either accounts. Like O said I didn't pay attention to what was being said. Who has 3 of the same emails linked to different states? HA HA.

Got to get ready to go to Best Buy to see if they a case and screen protector for this tablet. I tried other stores but no luck yesterday.

At this point, shouldn't you have been FOCUSED on straightening out the mess?

Did you give the scammer remote access to your device? Was he ever in control of moving the pointer/cursor on your screen?

Where did the number you called for Amazon come from? A popup on your screen?

Isn’t this like the 3rd scammer that tried to get his info, wasn’t it just last month that he had an issue with a phone call or something. I think it’s safe to say at this point that mix you should get new cards and even new account numbers perhaps. Just cause you never signed up for online banking doesn’t mean a scammer can’t do it if he’s in possession of the info needed. Seems like they’re getting closer and closer

Yes to all your questions. Now Taso to answer your question no he doesn't have any account numbers for my actual checking account and the card is cancelled. I never gave him my checking account number or bank routing number. So it's OK. My question was about the 2 accounts that they send the money to my banks checking account. The lady said they use my checking account numbers to put that money in my account. Not through a bank card. So I'm safe. Personally I don't like paying bills online. I only have 1 that I actually do that with and that's Geico. That gets paid with a bank card. I really don't like how things are so automated that a lot of time you can't speak to an associate. I know companies do this to save money so they don't have someone physically there to take care of your situation.

Yes to all your questions.

If the above is true, you are in a bad place.

No, you're not safe - far from it. A hacker doesn't need a bank card to steal your money. If you gave account information that's linked to your $$$ .. then you're in trouble.

There's no reason for me to hire 1,000 people if I only need 50 and the computer can handle the rest.

If the answers to the questions I asked is yes, you have much bigger problems than you think.
