What I love about the Yorkville EXM Mobile 8 is you can run it under battery power or you can plug it in. Works either way. Best of both worlds.

Wow, first I'd seen of a Yorkie. That thing has more SPL than the EV but battery life is only 5.5 hrs. I like the battery life indicator. Do you own one of these?

I do. And I love it. I haven't owned any of the others, but I don't think I need anything 'better' than my Yorkie.

I was under the impression that most battery powered speakers could do this. The 2 I have can.

That may be. As stated, I do not own the others. But several review sites mentioned this as a 'bonus'. Regardless, I love this little thing. I use it for ceremonies and as a satellite speaker for patios, large rooms, etc..

I just ordered another Stage Right D1 speaker the other day to go with the other one that I have. I have a corporate event at a penthouse of an office building next week. They want me to run 2 speakers in ANOTHER WING of the pent house where the photo booth will be. From where I am positioned and where the photo booth is positioned is about 100 to 130 feet or more away plus we are both around a corner wall. I am going to run a wireless transmitter out of one of the speakers near me to the one of the D1 speakers in that wing, then connect via XLR cable to the other speaker. I hope it all works out. My only other option is to daisy chain XLR cords together and run them all the way down there, and I really don't want to deal with that and tape it all down too. I also only have 2 hours for load in and set up. Event starts at Noon, and I don't have access to the penthouse until 10 am. I gotta get on the road by 8:40 am to drive down there.

I am going to bring with me on this event 2 Harbinger MLS1000, 2 Bose S1 Pro, and 2 Stage Right D1 Speakers. This pent house has two wings. An East Wing, a West Wing, and a LONG corridor about 20' wide between the two wings. In the middle of the corridor is an all glass see through conference office. The corridor is all glass so you can see the landscape everywhere around the building too. Apparently the penthouse was just built in the last year or two on this building.

The Stage Right D1 speaker just came in today. I just unboxed it and to my delight, it has a full battery charge out of the box. I am using it now. I was able to TWS bluetooth connect it to my other one rather easily. At first I thought it wasn't working, but it connected and started playing music. Just took like 25 seconds. Assuming that connect will be faster in the future since this was the first time connecting them together.

Honestly, I like the ability to just press a button and connect speakers via TWS link between the speakers rather than go through an app on the phone and wait for the speakers to pair through the app. The app seems cooler because it's on your phone, but it's less convenient imo.

These D1 speakers are a steal for the price. I think they are great. I also ordered slip on covers off of Amazon to fit Bose S1 Pros. The off brand slip on covers are thicker than the Bose covers, and come with a patch on the side to put your power cable in.

For anyone interested, here is the Event diagram of what I am dealing with next Wednesday. Plan is to have either 4 or 6 speakers used in total for this event. I may use all 6 and have 2 speakers running down that corridor so there is sound coverage through out.
