I noticed the lighting on stage last night while I was watching the CMA show. There were about 300 Chauvet "color tubes" on stage that had an amazing look.
Color tubes are DMX, but has it's own controller for non-DMX use. The tubes currently go for $119 with the controller for about $159. You MUST have the color tube controller in order to make it do anything. DMX can be plugged into the controller for custom displays.
I have ONE tube, and want to get several more... my wife has the "say so" on that.
