Yeah you are wrong but that's OK. It's done every day at SiriusXM (An American company in case you forgot) and almost every other radio station and I know it's them not the record companies because the edits are pretty harsh. It's also in the job description if you care to look.
It doesn't change the ones of the song and it isn't for resale. I did the edit and threw out both copies upon completion. The music was used at a private performance. If they need to investigate I'm not hard to locate.
