I was waiting for this upgrade for a while .. put myself on a pre-order list and received it last week.
Similar to the current 7d (which I own), but much faster overall, faster frame rate (10 fps vs about 6), much better auto-focus capabilities, dual card (SDCard and CompactFlash), and supposedly better noise control in high ISO settings.
The last one I'm not seeing so much .. indoor shooting is still better with my Canon 5dmk3.
The frame rate is SOOOOO much faster. For sports, it makes a big difference. I'm keeping a lot more shots since I get more "money shots" and the focus is better. Camera also has built-in GPS tagging, but no WiFi.
All-in-all a superb, if not the best, sports camera under $5000.
