I often use my 10 inch active speakers for my own home gatherings and cookouts. I was sick of dragging a complete rig outside and having to worry about it as the day went on. Then it occurred to me that I might be able to add a bluetooth receiver to a speaker the as you would a stereo. Well, it works pretty damn well.

Now, my guests can DJ via their phones and I can focus on having fun. In a pinch, this could work for a ceremony or background music.

There are many, but I got this one from Logitech. (Bonus: I had some rewards points and got it for $3.60)

Your solution is obviously a lot cheaper but for the wedding we shot last week, they used a Bose Soundlink. It worked very well. These little boxes are perfectly viable for a lot of ceremonies, IMHO.
