How many speakers do you use for an outdoor ceremony? Answer via Poll.

This is what I use. I usually use the cubes coupled as in the pic and also have a second system onsite if I need to scale.

Theo - How do the Nanos sound now that you've had a chance to use them?

And there wasn't a poll entry for "it depends". I normally use 2 for outdoor speaking/lite music engagements (I don't do weddings), but have used 4 if the area is either wide or long (delayed).

depends on venue and number of guests, sometimes 1 sometimes 4, have used 6. stupid poll there too many variables
Sorry, I should have asked "How many Speakers do you normally use?"
To address your comment I'll add the following criteria. Feel free to expand your answer!
In addition to the Poll:
Up to 50 People:
Up to 100 People:
Up to 150 People:
Up to 200 People:
More than 200 People:

I like them and they've paid for themselves already. I primarily use for small ceremonies (<150), acoustic instrument amplification, and for speaking engagements.
Not too shabby for small patio parties either.

Can I get a link to these speakers?

I edited and clarified it about two hours before you posted. Go take a look again Post #6 ;)

This is a question with far too many variables to have a simple answer, is there a lot of ambient noise, I have one venue where they have a small air conditioned building that you can see the ceremony from, I always run sound to that building, what type of sound reflecting / absorbing structures / landscaping is in the area, I do a lot of ceremony's 25+ a year and each location is completely different

tunes, what you say is true, however, just consider it as ideal otherwise. Open air, the amount of people in the criteria above, sun shiny day, slight breeze/wind, with your ability to set up anywhere.

Agreed...it all depends on the venue location and size of the seating area. If there is a soloist I may use two speakers vs. one; RCF Active 12".

If it's just music...I usually use two.
But I have done a few that were too small, and only needed one.

This really IS a question with a few variables.

The reason for the post is because I want to ask the Chaps who only use one speaker or choose to use one speaker....what happens if that speaker goes out on you during the ceremony? Is everyone going to hold still while you run out to the parking lot to bring in another speaker? At least if you are using two, then if one goes out you can continue without interruption. Just switch to mono and keep going. Speakers do fail sometimes you know, so do the cables that connect to them. Just a food for thought!

Same thing goes for the One Sub setups at other events and receptions. If that one sub goes then the loss of bass becomes very noticeable!

All this time I thought I was just answering a poll to satisfy someone's curiosity.
I didn't realize this was going to turn into a class in "what would you do"....

I feel violated.
