After 5 years I have re-designed our website from the ground up. I'd love some feedback: http://www.mynjdj.com
The Gallery isn't up yet and the homepage has 1 static image, but will rotate soon.
Thanks to all who take a look and respond!

Wordpress, correct? Looks good!

Couple of suggestions:

Consolidate some of your smaller 'service' items into one page ... maybe renaming them to something like 'Show Enhancers'.
There is really no need for a sitemap to be in the menu bar.
Is there an advantage of having seperate sites for some of your services? Could you maintain them all one site, with url's redirecting to the appropriate page? Using SEO on those pages to highlight that service? Seems like alot of work to maintain all those individual sites.
All your DJ's should have a face.
Agreed, that it's wordy.

I would work on your SEO material and get rid of the stuff at the bottom of the page. It will make your site look better.

I clicked on to the gallery page and saw nothing. Where are the pictures?

Just some constructive criticism... get rid of the "New Jersey's Most Requested DJ" claim on your home page. With only 4 reviews on WeddingWire and none of them from this year, almost everyone can figure out that you're probably making that up.

Be honest. Show people who you are and what you do well.

Thanks Randy, yup it's wordpress, this will be the 6th or 7th wordpress website I created, but the 1st for my main DJ website, so hopefully I've perfected most of my wordpress work by now. I appreciate the feedback on the service items, I'll have to take a close look at that and see what I want to do there, but I will definitely make a change. The sitemap showed up because I began working on the SEO this morning, but that will be gone. The crap at the bottom will be gone shortly too.

I've had a lot of luck with the individual sites, they've allowed me to easily create articles pertaining to that particular service. All of my individual sites do very well in SEO except my wedding site, so that may end up getting absorbed into my main site soon.

I didn't say New Jersey's Most Requested Wedding DJ... go take a look at my Event Wire reviews :p. But that is just something I threw up to test, I hate how it covers so much of the picture and that will be changed.

Okay, so you have 14 EventWire reviews. To say that you're the "Most Requested" DJ in an entire state is a big claim to make.

One oddity I noticed is if you stay on a page to read it, the pictures above change, and some of them must be a different size, as the main text moves up and down to accommodate the height. Might be annoying to a reader if it keeps moving a little.

I think alot of sites have this 'flaw'. IMO, when I see it, it immediately tells me that you're probably not.

Yup, I'm trying to fix that, I have no clue why it is occurring because the images are the exact same size.

Don't know WordPress .. maybe there is a coordinate location field for the start of the image or the image size buried in properties that might be different.

Your pictures also need to have the same resolution so they are interpreted the same way on a given monitor. They should also be free of transparent overlays that extend beyond the border.

:) Regarding the name - theoretically, if you are "Sound Defying" wouldn't that make you inaudible?

All your DJ's should have a face.

Even us ugly ones.
In my experience, you can SAY the most brilliant things on your website, but you need pics to draw their attention. You gotta get 'em interested in a few seconds, otherwise you lose them.

Which reminds me. Get the pics and video gallery up and running. It was the FIRST place I went to.

When I went to start to work on the gallery I couldn't find a lot of picture I really liked, so I soon discovered that I've got my pictures spread across 3 different PCs and then some 10 DVDs and I've got it on my list to consolidate to 1 external to easily look through and start picking the best photos.

Been there, done that!
I have a work computer, a laptop, and a home PC.
So I finally bought a 2 TB hard drive and put all my stuff in ONE place!
