I want a small controller and they keep getting closer to being back to 2 x 1200 deck size.

I wonder if it has outputs for an External TV Monitor and Keyboard. My MEP 7000 is also a Standalone but without the included Mixer. Mine also does not require a Laptop or Mixer.

Cool... Waiting for the XDJ-2000s to be announced though because I like my modular setup and the XDJ-1000s don't quite have the build quality I'm looking for.

I would actually like something like Canute's MEP7000 without the dual CD deck (or make that an option). They no longer make that unit and the SEP they do make is a controller and doesn't stand alone.

Wow...that is a beautiful beast! But it's way too much IMHO for a wedding/anniversary/bull roast jock.
There is MUCH more to DJ life than Weddings. If Manufacturers only had to depend on Wedding DJs to buy their products they would just make CD Players not Controllers? I thought it was of the school of thought that Wedding DJs don't mix or create fancy effects at their Events!

Like most ethnic dj's I mix/add effects at weddings and almost all my gigs.

I know David. There are those of us who Mix and use that kind of equipment at every event. There are some who say otherwise and say it is either not needed or not requested by the Client. We know this to be a Myth!

Oh, I know that! And I did mix a bit at weddings when appropriate.

I was just sayin' it seems to me to be a tad more than needed at some events - plus it looks friggin' huge!

And yes I know they are targeting mostly club-type jocks.

Like Jim, I don't do anything that I couldn't handle on the Denon HC4500, my little DJ2GO, Behringer CMD Micro, or even with the mouse on screen.

And while I love the concept of an all-in-one .. especially one that works without a PC .. it would need to be rackmountable for me.

I agree rack mountable is the key for me too.

Jim, this one came out a little over 5 years ago. I bought mine in 2010. It is a Standalone but without the Mixer part. It does not need a Laptop even though it can be connected to one. You can attach a Hard Drive, TV/Monitor and Keyboard to it. It also has several modes of Automixing and you can save about 20 Playlists in it! They don't manufacture it anymore but it is still available in some places, I paid $1,500.00 for mine back then.

I'm guessing Musikmesse in Frankfurt and BPM UK will be where Pioneer choose to bring out the big guns.

I don't know if these can any bigger without adding a hernia rider to our liability insurance.

LOL...I don't really "get" these new controllers with screens...their library searching is terrible, you're gonna have to go to the laptop or whatever if you want to do a proper search.

I guess these are ok if you want to keep your attention in one single place which I guess is a bonus...but then how hard is it to get a stand that puts your laptop screen in a similar place?

As Maestro mentioned in another thread, I'd also love an all-in-one ... about the size of the Denon MC6000, with an LCD screen in the middle, and the ability to work with a PC, an iPad, or can pull and play music directly from a USB stick or HD. Pioneer has something like that with their MEP7000, though it doesn't have a mixer and loses most of it functionality without the large CD unit.

It would be nice to make playlists, and such and have the all-in-one read and play those for simple events (background music or ceremony stuff) or in case of laptop meltdown as a backup. I know I can do it with my iPads (and phone as necessary), just would be nice for a small system.
