Congrats,
welcome to the world of even less sleep, take plenty of photos it does go by fast. And somewhere in between Disney awaits to test your metal & lighten your wallet.
This is our second, so the lack of sleep has been ongoing for a few years haha. And we’ve already gone to Disney twice in 4yrs lol!

Congrats!

And I'm sorry you had to deal with going to Disney twice already! J/K (Not really joking though...seriously... lol)

My wife wants to go for my son's high school graduation trip in 2027. At least it's 3 years away.

So we personally like disney... we've been 3 times in the last 6 or 7 years. Its def gotten very expensive, but now with the newborn we don't anticipate going for at least another 3 yrs. If you're a members There's plenty of great costco deals that really provide significant savings.

Actually my best Disney trip was without the kids but I took my wife. I extended a business trip when I was down for LDI. The kids were in school & the Disney was empty. We still have a day left on the passes. We went to a comedy club and a couple snuck off to Disney without the kids, told the kids they were going on a cruise. Boy did the comedian have fun with that one. We were sitting close by quiet as church mice, laughing quietly.

The parks are Beautiful, and some of the rides were actually very fun. The food in Epcot was Amazing. The All U can Eat Breakfast with Mickey Mouse was great with me loving to eat a lot. I really enjoyed the restaurants in Disney Springs. However, outside of those things, I couldn't stand being in Disney every day.

60 mins to 3 hour waits for a ride. Little kids just get exhausted, and at least my son and neice and their grand mother were all exhausted by 3/3:30 every day. Every day we would wake up early to get into the park only to find thousands of others getting there early. We would plan to get to our first ride, and maybe that ride would be not that long of a wait, but then once we were done with first ride, EVERYTHING WAS PACKED. Try to go on 2nd ride...wait for super long time. DO the ride/attraction...and at this point it is already 12:45/1 pm...time for lunch. Go and wait somewhere for lunch. Eat lunch. Get out of lunch at 2:15/2:30 pm. Try to do another ride. Wait over 1 hour. Kids and Grandma cranky. We go back to hotel room, and that was our day at Disney. Repeat this like 6 days in a row. We had a 5 or 6 day pass. Did all the parks, but never stayed in any park past 4 pm. My wife, and son and I went to Magic kingdom at night time one time and returned. We also did a 2nd day ay Animal Kingdom ONLY to ride Everest and use our fast past. It was pouring rain that whole day so we rode the rollercoaster in our ponchos.

Oh, and it Rains Almost every day. So it seems DIFFICULT to get one full NICE weather day when in disney world. I prefer the weather at Busch Gardens Williamsburg a hundred times over the way high humidity, and Rain in Florida.

Oh, we also went down in May which was supposed to be "The lightest month" in Disney, and it still seemed packed every day we were there. Most we could do was 3 rides a day except in EPCOT...We managed to get 4 done in one day there but less intense rides in Epcot.

To me, it's not worth it overall, and I hate all the line waiting, but I guess everyone has to do Disney at least once in their life. If I lived within driving distance I probably would like it more, but it was not my greatest vacation at all. It was certainly the most expensive though!

May a light month? Most schools are getting out in May so I dk how that's figured. Slowest times of the year are end of august and september when kids go back to school, as well as january/february. Thats when you really see an empty park. I guess we do things a little different. We don't go early. We went after noon and ate lunch at the hotel or off site and went to pool in the mornings. This way when we ate at the park it was quick things or snacks that you got from a cart or something. If we did eat at the park we had a reservation. Otherwise we ate dinner at disney springs. Rides... we had a balance of rides w minimal lines and some with an hour long lines but I think the biggest difference is we got there around 1-2 and stayed till late when it cooled making things more tolerable, meanwhile you were there in the hottest times of the day and never got a break. Magic kingdom you need 2 days, whereas epcot/hollywood/animal kingdom are 1 day parks. Last time we went we didnt even bother with animal kingdom.

Oh! That's friggin' awesome! As a three time dad of kids over 30....just wanna say that....YOUR LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!! (in a good way)
I am the proud father of 3 daughters....and 1 grandson. I totally agree!
