Might not be as "COOL" as the Flex, but my new upgrade was from the 2001 PT Cruiser that served me well for 8 years was to a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Stow & Go seating for the 2nd & 3rd rows, power sliding doors. A very nice addition to the business. LOTS more rooms - no more 'DJ Tetris' :sqlaugh:

One thing I forgot to mention was that I love having the interior height of the Astro when loading / unloading. The Transit Connect also has the interior height. No way I could go with a low interior height vehicle for DJ'ing; and I'm only 5'8"! I do this far to often to sacrifice comfort. I enjoy what I do and would like to keep it that way. :sqcool:

These Transit Connects aren't even out yet, are they?

They arrived this summer. Not many dealerships have them. So you may have to find a bigger Ford dealer or one that has a work truck center to see one in person. My bet is though you've probably seen several running around being in Philly and all. Ford released several hundred into big cities last year to basically road test them before a full scale release.

Papa - I'm in the same spot as you - need a bigger vehicle for the kids and the gear. But I can't pull the trigger on the minivan either. I've gone back and forth enough for my wife to damn near kill me; so I feel where you are coming from. If your gut says not to pull the trigger - then don't!

I've gotten that feeling before and wished I listened to it. You'll never regret NOT buying something. It'll still be there if you change your mind.

Had I never been to this site, I'd have never seen that Transit Connect - now I'm glad I didn't buy that Explorer!

Papa, do you use your current DJ vehicle for family hauling? If so, then I think Caravan with Stow and Go seems to make sense.

Otherwise that Ford Transit connect looks good from and advertising/professional standpoint. Wrap that baby and make heads turn.\

Think MPG or small trailer.

Seriously folks, if you're considering a vehicle for moving gear, it'd be worth your time to go and physically see one of these Transit Connects up close and in person. If you don't have a dealer near you that has one, I'd wait until auto show season to check out all your options side by side. That's what Ducky and I are doing.
