All a bit quiet on here about this brand new release from the makers of djay.

I got home late from my gig last night and saw it on iTunes at 34GBP (49US$ I think it is for you guys) and after a beer I clicked on BUY and instantly fell asleep before awaking on my sofa this morning at 6am...I trundled off to bed and that was that and i've been busy all day.

I've just got in and sat down for a cup of tea (as that's what Brits do to relax) and I noticed this new app I bought..lol...so I had a closer look...and WOW. This is an awesome awesome release. Take a look at the website...

The main things to point out...
  • 4-decks!!!
  • A wide variety of different layouts, traditional vinyl, horizontal waves, vertical waves, etc, etc.
  • Spotify integration, that's right, play songs from Spotify as well as songs from your itunes library!
  • ...and more!
It's mapped to about 50 or so MIDI controllers right now, mainly Numark, Hercules and Reloop. There is some support for Pioneer controllers but not for the DDJ-SB, SR, SX, SX2 or SZ. That said, at my gig tonight i'm going to try and map my DDJ-SZ myself with the learning feature of djay pro and see what happens. If it works just fine then I will give it a go tonight I think...nothing like living on the edge!

Anyone else bought it yet?
 
I have it on my iPhone/iPad, though use Traktor on there normally as a background music/emergency backup player. Just bout Traktor for the PC, so will play with that for a bit. Otherwise I'll stick with the PCDJ/VDJ Lite pair I'm used to.
 
I bought it two day s ago and plan on using it tonight for a sweet sixteen party.

One thing i've found about it is that when I try to map it to my DDJ-SZ it only understands ONE main output....so if I have a track playing on deck 1 and I want to play a track on Deck 2, Deck 2's output will not go through channel 2, it will go through channel 1 as well as deck 1...

Hmmm, just have to wait for native support, if it comes at all...stick with Serato or Traktor, I have both.
 
Have it on iPads and iPhone as well. Never used it at a gig.
