I installed Serato DJ Pro 2.1 Beta, and Serato was kind enough to reset ALL the Expansion Packs back to a 14 day free Trial, including a new one called "Play". This version will also stream "Tidal" if you have an account there.
What has impressed me the most is Pitch'n Time, a Serato plugin with their premium time stretching algorithm. I had never tried it because it was rumored to be a resource hog. Well, not only is that not true on my plain vanilla i3 Windows 7 laptop, but it sounds wonderful!
Previously, I could start to hear artifacts if the pitch/tempo was altered more than 4% (in all the DJ software I've tried, not just Serato). Now, 8% sounds perfect, and I'll be experimenting pushing it even more! I'll for sure be purchasing this (US $29) as soon as my 14 day trial ends.
