I just bought my birthday present today from KPODJ. At least one of them. I get something else on June 1st. I bought the CAD GXLU dual cordless mics. I am selling my Samson Concert 277 mics for $100. That includes everything. Even 13 Duracell 9V batteries to go along with the mics.

I am here with my friend and when he finishes with karaoke tonight we will test it out.

You are selling crap and buying more crap? Uhmmm, ok.

Haven't you learned anything? Didn't you say you don't buy cheap things?
I bought what I could afford at the time. I know what I wanted to buy today but the cost for the 4 mics by JTL I think they want over $1,600. My birthday is June 2nd. Buddy pal and friend can you buy that for my birthday present? LOL.

Seriously.... couldn't you be a little patient, save another $200 and get one semi decent mic (shure mic for around $350), or save just a little more and get 2 semi descent mics Shure BLX288/PG58 Dual Channel Handheld Wireless System | IDJNOW (call them you'll get a better price, I promise). You don't value your investments in your gear, why should you expect clients to respect you as a DJ and business. Like the clients that book you... stop settling for the lowest quality.

'At the time'? You just bought the CAD GXLU - so 'at the time' is right now. You're selling another one for $100 and bought a new one for $159.

Mix .. You seem to be a nice guy who is still dreaming big. At this stage of life and to the clientele you have available, why don't you take stock of what you can effectively do and re-tool yourself for that. We've covered this many a time.

I would guess that if you sold your Yorkville subs, sold your Earthquakes, picked up a small set of subs to go with the Yamaha tops (or sell those too and get a nice 12" set) .. you'd be able to do more by yourself, you'd have plenty of firepower for the size events you do (and then some) and would probably have a few bucks left over to get proper accessories (like a decent wireless mic). You'd also have less issue fitting things into smaller places and could probably do it all with a car or small SUV instead of a van.

So, What does your accountant think of you investments Mix? I'm tying to justify purchasing new speakers & is the investment is going to pay.
I've spent the last five years down sizing and selling equipment the sees little use or return.
nothing wrong with keeping equipment fresh & new looking. Invest once and save over the long haul.
Also you'll find that better equipment will give you a better return if you to sell or trade.
The more money I make , the more frugal I get.
Ego & pride will destroy!

Sorry can't get rid of the van. I'm financing the van. So no getting away from that or have them come after me for the money I owe them.

I wouldn't make another thread about either one of these. Today I had 2 people ask me did I get my free phone. This lady said it could go to a family member. Everybody in my family is good with a cellphone including me. So both of them had no reason to ask me that question.

The other thing is I got a call telling me I've been approved to get a loan for up to 15k. I quickly hung up the phone. Not interested because that 15k if approved will wind up being 50k after I finish paying them off.

I saw a court show where someone was seeing a person for a little over $2.600 for a payday loan. She let them know that by the time you pay this off you will have paid them over 12k. The interests was 133%! Things like that are for people not thinking and just see this as a way to get some quick cash.

You buying a $120 mic is not thinking right either... especially when after a few uses you're going to want/need something better that you should of bought in the first place. That $350 mic that you shouldve bought at first, will costs $600 with all the mistakes that you made by buying cheap ones before finally doing it right. You just wanted that quick gift for yourself, and didn't think at all. I see it no different than that loan example...

You aren't good at math, are you? $2600 at 133% interest = $3458.

First off I didn't say it. The judge did and she is right because of the time to pay off the loan. Most people will pay the minimum payment due on the loan. Most of that goes to the interest and not the loan.

At this time that's all I could afford. Unless you want to be a nice guy and donate some money my way to help me pay a couple of bills.

Then .. don't buy it now! Use the Samson, use a corded mic .. wait. Rent if you have a big need. Is there an immediate opportunity?

So you're saying in a month you can't afford something $200 more? Pick up a bar gig or two for $50 each, you seem to know all of them. This is a bad excuse.
