I'm not as well-lined (at least at the AC show - only my 6th), though I'm occasionally, well-lit.

You won't be the only newbie there it's only my son's third show. He should be there Wednesday too. Although sometimes you may feel that the seminars are not be what you expect your but the key is you will meet people just by attending them. Also in the hallways, Exhibit hall, at the evening events. The key is doing networking and picking up new ideas. I've been going to every DJ Times show since the first even if for only one day. I remember the first DJ Yimes Expo. I bought one of my DJs and we thought there was only going to be around 50 people or so. Then we turned and saw hundreds on line. Over the years the show has ups & down but I only seems to walk away with something new.

This will be my third show as well.

My first was at the Trump Taj Mahal. During whatever getting to know your neighbor activity they had in the first presentation, I was between a guy from New York City who just went full-time and a couple guys from Dayton who are only a few hours from me here in Ohio. We pretty much hung out that week and last year. None of them will be there this year.

It was definitely a unique experience having a ton in common with total strangers, ending up having a great time, exchanging cards and keeping in touch. I was also able to get some great sanity checks on my operations and second eyes on some of my processes and materials I might not necessarily be comfortable sharing with people a few minutes down the street with me. I'm friendly with a lot of the other owners in my market, I just don't disclose a whole lot of what I am planning or doing with most of them.

I don't remember purchasing anything at my first show - I think I was mostly taking it all in and ended up purchasing my new system a month or two after I returned. I purchased all my global truss stuff and my first set of moving heads at the last show - the price wasn't anything to write home about but the shipping on global pieces is outrageous just about anywhere you go. Don't know if I plan to purchase anything this year - but I have a list of things that need to be replaced or acquired if something looks reasonable.

Will any of you be there at the Expo on Tuesday? I will be there with my son and Dad. ...I am taking my son to the pool in Harrah's Monday night...I think the kick off party is at that pool, so I wonder if we will be able to use the pool, or if it is reserved for the party. ...If it is not reserved, and other hotel guests can still go to the pool during the party then I will be able to be a part of that party, LOL.

Exhibitors have been announced (though you need their app to see all the info) .. 2018 SHOW APP - DJ EXPO

Thankfully, Alto will be there .. :)

And the lesser brands like Allen&Heath, Avante, BassBoss, Bose, CV, DAS, db Technologies (yayy!!), Denon, EV, FBT, LD, Mixars, Numark, Peavey, Pioneer, Rane, RCF, Reloop, Technics, and Yorkville.

Most of the DJ level lighting companies as well .. ADJ, ApeLabs, Chauvet, Eliminator, Marq.

If you're going to the sessions, "Boab" (his spelling) Carpenter (from Sid's board) is a presenter.

Will be fun !!

OK .. some of you are headed down. Let's meet in front of the AC Burger Co. @ 7pm on Wednesday evening. They don't take reservations, though I may stop earlier in the afternoon if I can to see if there is a waiting list setup. If it looks crappy, we'll shoot for something else.

If someone gets there earlier, scope it out and we can make alternative plans if necessary.

I ate there tonight... I won't be around Wednesday night, but let's just say you'll probably want to shoot for something else.

OK looks like my schedule is still holding, Wednesday 7 PM. The weather the past few weeks has been real crappy and almost all of my events are outdoors. Absolutely no fun , thankfully the rain dates were clear .

I booked Carmines "in case" the AC Burger Co. sucks (as Brendan has mentioned). I made reservations for 7:30 for 8 people. I will cancel just before 7 if the group decides to stay at Harrahs.

It's not that it sucked; it just wasn't as good as it should be - Red Robin is better in every way. Also, it's out in the open and right next to the casino (with no walls separating it), so it's noisy and not great for conversations among new friends.
