This ended up coming out of a few different components and needs. But I was reflecting on giving Mix a hard time for his mic purchase. And I realized that I also had a project I've been sitting on, but just needed to get off my butt and do.

I've owned the domain http://albatrossdc.com/ for a while, but it has just been a redirect to a facebook page. I decided to build it out recently.

I've been on Wordpress for my main Bela Sono site, but I wanted to try Squarespace. Their designs look nice and clean, and it looked super easy to throw a basic page together.

So this is my shot at creating a site with a nightlife feel. I plan to add some more mix content that I don't have posted. But, I mainly wanted to prove how easy it is to get a website up quickly that looks professional. It's not as robust as it can be yet... but I'll keep at it.

I did check it out from my phone (I still got the notice, but went by it anyways), and it actually looks really good. Clean, simple, and has all the necessary components one would need for a starter website. Lmk if you figure out whats causing the privacy issue.
This might work better: Home

I think that security issue is coming from connecting a godaddy domain to Squarespace, and they haven't connected fully yet. But I'll check with them tomorrow when the chat is open.

I played with it for about 2 hours, but I could have done it sooner if I wasn't playing so much. I was trying to get a feel for their system.

I love that black and white full frame picture! Really makes a statement of something modern and cool. As expected from seeing a glimpse on your mobile page. Clean, simple, effective. Replace mixes with photos, and whatever else you want to showcase and you got a full dj website in less than 2 hrs. Personally I feel everyone on here who hasn't updated their site, or is in need of a refresh should look into this option.

Hey @MIXMASTERMACHOM no excuses now.

@TinyTim, I'd look into this a little bit more to get your name out on the web. Seems like its only $18 a month for a business site.

Squarespace does have some nice looking templates. The biggest thing they have going for them is they don't let you step on yourself with the design part.
Yeah, they seem to try to dummy proof it. But that worked really well for this. I may add an upcoming gigs section, but for the most part it will work as is.

The biggest thing I don't like about SS is they don't seem to be very concerned about SEO. CSS code is way over-bloated and my AMP pages keep reporting back that they have problems, and there's no way for me to fix it. I've got a decent SEO score on my page but I've just setup a new Wordpress site to play with it and see if I can improve things.

I have been considering switching over to this theme, I like it a lot better than the current theme I am using.

That's not a bad looking template. I would just make sure you can tweak the colors, and I would scan the websites of your competitors and make sure that nobody directly around you is also using it.

Maybe a client wouldn't know, and your own unique photos should help regardless. But not looking exactly like everyone else's site is important.

I believe all colors are changeable , and yes, valid tip, I for sure will check other local DJ's to make sure they are not using the same theme, while you are probably right, most clients may not noticed, and of course, I dont want to look like everyone else.
