I use Rekordbox but the DJ2GO2 is mapped with Serato Lite, which is all I really need for a backup. The little laptop is kinda pricy... would rather use a tablet instead. The Nano computer is WAY more powerful than what I would need for DJing, but I don't do video.[emoji4]
What software will you use?
I kinda feel the same way... the Gechic would be ideal but it's too much $$$.Screen would be too small for my eyes

That thing (pocket PC) probably will not run Serato reliably. You need an Intel Core i3,i5,or i7 cpu. Even AMD processors are buggy - it's just the way Serato is coded. Older versions may run, but older versions will not have DJ2GO2 support.I use Rekordbox but the DJ2GO2 is mapped with Serato Lite, which is all I really need for a backup.
lol that thing! yeah... how about the NUC with a 15 inch touchscreen and BT keyboard/mouse combo? That thing (pocket PC) probably will not run Serato reliably. You need an Intel Core i3,i5,or i7 cpu. Spec wize, it looks good - but it looks like it is completely passively cooled, no fans - it probably has to sit completely in the open to avoid overheating. Plus, you still need a monitor/keyboard/mouse.lol that thing! yeah... how about the NUC with a 15 inch touchscreen and BT keyboard/mouse combo?
My new Nano PC's are also passively cooled. This is why I need to do A LOT of load testing to see if they'll overheat. I'll run a playlist in Traktor for 4-6 hours non-stop (looping through it), and watch to see how high the temperatures get, or if they shut down. In just the little bit I've tested so far, though... the heat is not bad.[emoji4] I think Traktor is not as resource demanding as Serato, though. Not sure about Rekordbox?Spec wize, it looks good - but it looks like it is completely passively cooled, no fans - it probably has to sit completely in the open to avoid overheating. ...
same hereYou can use a DJ2GO(or 2) with an Apple iPad ... that would be my choice since the iPad is a stable platform. I use an iPad Mini with Traktor and DJay .. no controller, since the ipad is touchscreen anyway. It's my go to music backup.
Certainly I've seen failures. The dropped stuff, the liquid pored into stuff. However, I believe the true enemy is heat.I'm also an IT guy - and I've seen plenty of failures.
