Weddings 4.22.17 Wedding Recap Video... Simple Yet Fun!

Just a simple wedding from a production standpoint, but a lot of energy from the crowd. Such good feedback that halfway through all the vendors there came up giving me their cards and asking for mine saying they want to network together, and the hall to recommend my services. Bringing it back to the basics... good music... reading the crowd... being professional... communication and preparation... and blowing away everyone's expectations!

I like how you allow just the right amount of time for each snippet of video.
When not enough time is allotted for each piece (which I see a lot of ), it doesn't allow for the viewer to get the vibe. Too long a focus on one piece and the viewer can lose interest, especially on slow songs. While each song maybe different, you still have made it look like it flows together as one. Nicely done!

I would have LOVED deejaying that one! A lot of music from back in my day LOL. DMX, Smash Mouth, Heavy D... They looked like laid back clients as well.

Very laid back... they actually cared more about the dinner music than the dancing music. Aside from the 3-4 oldies early on... it was all relatively current. Noticing as well that a lot of my couples are really into throwing it back at some point to the stuff they grew up with in their teenage years.

TASO...where's the cocktail, dinner and dance playlist for the wedding. Great job of keeping the dance floor energy level at peak.

Cocktail was a generic mix of dean martin, sinatra, al martino type music, with greek instrumentals mixed in for that crowd.

Bride and groom selected the entire dinner playlist... dance music was mostly chosen by me with about 5 songs plus the last song selected by the bride and groom
Reception was 4 hours long with around 2 hours and 15 minutes dedicated to dancing.

Like your list. The Greek music sounds interesting. Was it folk oriented or some ethnic pop music? Thanks for posting your play list...excellent.

The greek mentioned above is more traditional... not "pop". I have many crowds where I play a lot of current greek club music... but this wasnt one of those. A few of those songs in my playlist are edits/medleys of many songs and not something you can find online or download... for example the "nisiotika medley" is around 8 min long containing snippets of songs that are popular for that kind of dance. Greek music is perhaps the hardest to dj as it is so specific to the crowd, that unless you grew up in the greek culture or from greece, you'll never know all the variations or differences from one line dance to the next. On top of it, each island and parts of mainland greece has its own different types of traditional line dancing songs... and greece is full of islands... and then the harder part is mixing it so that you don't screw up which step the guests are on... some dances have 12 or 16 steps and if you don't time them, you'll get some nasty stares.

My experience with continuous line dance mixes is limited as the norm in my area is Top40, Hip-Hop. However, I have done several Mitzvahs and you need to know that music too. Since I also don't do Club play, mixing isn't my forte. Appreciate your willingness to explain the nuances of Greek music.
