What kind of fog fluid is recommended in Mister Kool II

We have a few Halloween parties and rentals coming up over the next week. When digging out our 15 year old Chauvet and Eliminator fog machines they were dead. Just got some Mister Kool IIs in. I realize to an extent waterbased fog juice and proplyene glycol is what it is regardless of...

I used PayPal to pay them - if it doesn't come I'll dispute the charge.

I've actually thought about opening up a suicide company under a different name and just staffing it with warm bodies for this type of stuff so I can still profit off it as I teach the market a valuable lesson... If some of my competitors notorious for rookie subcontractors and bait and switch...

    PSSL Has Closed Their Doors

Noone from PSSL has been replying - even before they shut their doors. I actually wanted the Gigbar Move 2 weeks ago when they had it on sale for $600 something - tried calling since I wanted to expedite shipping and add in a few Mr. Kool IIs, no luck. Worked out better for me though - while I...

    PSSL Has Closed Their Doors

Just got the email for their going out of business sale. A lot of stuff looks like your typical liquidator got a hold of it - marked back up then 30% off, however, I did just pick up a Chauvet Gigbar Move for $560 out the door.

    Coffin Cleanup

Are you doing anything extra to shield the or amplify line running to the ethercon? I realize many ethernet cables are already shielded but normally I see them used with some sort of DI or step-up/step down unit.

The Denon DN MC 6000 came today.

Speaking of which I have a greaaaat set of festival speakers described in another thread I'm willing to part with to get some money for some etx-35s... They *mostly* work...

The Denon DN MC 6000 came today.

Cross faders and sliders are usually user serviceable and from what I recall only cost around $20 a piece. You could take a stab at opening it up and swapping these or at least buy the parts and have them on hand for the repair guy if you want to save some cash.

    Coffin Cleanup

Alright...so...mini rant here along with a problem to solve... With festivals in October some of my older passive/19" rack mounted gear has been going out. I've to realize I miss these systems terribly. It takes me under ten minutes (sometimes about 5) to put it up and tear it down with the...

Weddings "Free DJ/Included in rental DJ"...

A new barn venue owner actually approached me as they were "integrating" a dj booth into their design so they can supply all the sound, equipment etc. with their packages. When asking to partner with us so someone could just "show up and run it" - after giving them my rate I never heard from...

PS - Thanks for the welcome back everyone. I will try to get some pictures of the rig up soon (although this setup is not representative of what we normally send out)

Troubleshooting Odd Power Loss in a Passive System

So I had some weddings cancel this last weekend and ended up running the speakers personally at a festival. So the entire thing was being run on a completely different rack than any used to-date. One speaker sounded fine. The other sounded scratchy - moreso scratchy through the horn (rx22)...

Troubleshooting Odd Power Loss in a Passive System

Yes - I did test the amps with other speakers which is how I was able to rule the CE1000 as part of the issue (I'm actually running 4 of these speakers). I'm guessing it may be the voice coils. What is the proper procedure to check them? I did notice the impedance was slightly off but chalked...

Troubleshooting Odd Power Loss in a Passive System

Hey everyone - it's been a while since I've been on here. Hope everyone is hanging in there and doing well. I'm encountering some odd issues with one of my older systems I have having difficulty tracing. Before everyone starts hating on the gear - this is NOT one of my wedding rigs - it is...

    Video Jocks Handbrake Serato Settings

I know this has been discussed before (and I know I have done this before) but I am drawing a blank on settings if anyone could help refresh my memory. Basically, I'm moving the video collection in its entirety over FROM the old software TO Serato video, which means all the old VOBs need to be...

    Wireless mics

I'm using mostly Audio Technica System 10 pro these days - I buy them directly from the manufacturer in Stow. Positives: -Economical -Decent range -True Diversity/No noisey dropout -Two receiver modules fit in the receiver unit in a half rack space -Battery powered receivers available (I use...

    Out of Curiosity

You're trying to compare something mission critical to an add on :) I agree cheap lights are ok - but not cheap anything else. As others have mentioned, a light going out is not nearly as critical or noticeable as mic dropout or amp/speaker quality issues. That being said, I have actually...

Fogger for "Dancing In The Clouds"

In retrospect the cloud effect worked...(not as well as I had hoped), but the client was very happy with it so it was successful. The end result was "poofier" than my initial test. The model of the machine was called a "Dry Icer" - looks a lot like a Nimbus but is catered to a theatrical crowd...

Follow up surveys to lost prospects

Not to reopen an old thread - but I actually sent one of these out for the first time tonight - Reason being, my close rate seems to be down from where it was historically. We'll see what happens. In the past, my leads were almost all referrals. I probably had a 90% close rate. I started...

    DIY Facade

Rather than wood I use 80/20 and esto tube with their respective connectors. It gives it more of a store bought look. I haven't built a full facade out of this stuff yet (time constraints) but I have built many pieces and covers for dj stuff and photobooth. You can get the square tubing with...

Fogger for "Dancing In The Clouds"

Alright so if I understand you correctly, if I feed more in quicker I should get a better blast and ultimately better cloud. Is there anything else I should consider? Raising the unit? Angling the unit etc.?
