Weddings First wedding...we're doomed I"m afraid

There does appear to be a cure; hydroxychloroquine and Z-pack, with a new "official medical study" coming out this week that shows 70% cure rate. That is a big number for a medicine and the sooner that the libs who have been politicizing against it will shutup we can get over the fear factor...

Weddings First wedding...we're doomed I"m afraid

Hardly doomed. If anything, I was encouraged by our first few events that people are basically over the manufactured scare. By the way, did you see the web article this morning? Hydroxycholoquine and a Z-pac have had spectacular results in taking care of this illness.

Attended my first Zoom wedding today

In my experience, 20-something females often will ignore real relationship when money is involved. Money dances are a prime example. While they're acceptable in some areas/families, in this area it's pretty universally thought that the girl is attempting a shakedown of the family. I see the Zoom...

Attended my first Zoom wedding today

You're being a bit dramatic. I'm fairly certain that big weddings and their over-the-top budgets have not always been vital to marriage and without them people will still get married and continue to have families. I'd really be interested to know when the tradition of lavish events got started...

Attended my first Zoom wedding today

"meaningful" is up to the client, and this is worrisome, at least to me. If these remote weddings become chic, then it's game over for us DJs. Like many of you, we've had clients this year who went ahead with a private, family-only ceremony. There's minimal cost involved and if technology...

Attended my first Zoom wedding today

Wonder how many DJs will be hired for zoom weddings and what will their pay be?

    VDJ 2021

So how much does it really bang your processor. This might convince me to jump back into the VDJ pool. Very cool.

How well do the mics work? I had a Samson wireless and it was a piece of crap.

    Prom playlist?

BTW, Birthday Bitch was requested by a girl having her birthday. Had to download it on the spot and couldn't find a clean version. No school officials and I was confident the sponsors didn't care. The kids loved it.

    Prom playlist?

Most of my other accounts in the past have been 3-4 hours (besides the walk-out). This one has always been short. First time I worked it they told me "the kids are only there for 20 minutes." They all want to go drink/party from what I've been told.

Rolls MX51S Mini Mix 2 Four-Channel Stereo Line Mixer

I like the XLR outputs. Not too keen on the channel config. I think the knobs would be confusing (bass/trebble).

Rolls MX51S Mini Mix 2 Four-Channel Stereo Line Mixer

I'm gun-shy from anything Samson. Had a pair of powered speakers just burn out for no reason. I went ahead and ordered the Rolls. We'll see if it's any good or not. Main thing is the format (front-loaded knobs) so it's fit the rig I'm putting together.

Rolls MX51S Mini Mix 2 Four-Channel Stereo Line Mixer

I usually have 2 mic channels (headset/handheld) and sound source (laptop/tablet). At present, I'm still using a laptop, but will likely switch over to tablet soon. I have a little metal surface that slips over the speaker stand. I'm planning to mount this and my GTD mic receiver underneath the...

    Prom playlist?

Okay, here it is. Senior walk-out didn't finish until 8:45p and the last kids left by 10p. The first half-dozen were what I picked to start out with then it was all on-the-fly requests after that. The last handful of songs were for the sponsors as they were cleaning up (they were dancing as...

    Prom playlist?

Yes, they were, either side of my 4ft table. This was the only rain cover available so my equipment takes precedence over sound. We just barely dodged getting hammered and I already have a photobooth out in the open (with plastic over it). If I had been able to better place the speakers (so it...

Has anybody here used this? Steve, is this the unit that you have? I'm thinking about picking one up for my ceremony rig.

    Prom playlist?

Honestly, I didn't have enough rig for the gig, but it's all I currently have; 2 QSC K10s, 2 AltoTS215S subs. It was respectable but I had a few "turn it up" comments. If I were planning on doing more school/kid events, I'd move back up to bigger subs but this is my last prom account and I have...

Yea, this school has some kind of tradition where the guys take off their shirts. Can't understand why the ladies aren't doing the same thing. ;)

    Prom playlist?

The prom turned out terrific. This is the first time these kids have seen each other in 3 months and they all showed up and ready to party. They used pipe&drape to cordon off a block and I put 9X18 uplighting fixtures against each brick column and on both sides of the street. I was positioned at...

    Prom playlist?

Yes, that's the main street in town. It's actually a pretty cool setup. They're just now setting up the Senior Walk-out. MyDMXGo is still solid. Fingers crossed.

    Prom playlist?

Have everything setup and ready to go and the first group of kids just walked in. It was supposed to be clear weather but I just got report that it's raining at my parent's house (10 miles away). Luckily, my DJ rig is under a porch but my photobooth is exposed (have plastic at the ready). I'm...

    Google maps, grrr!

Thanks for the perspective. I'm planning to set it up, without attaching the letters, take a few pics, then make a decision. We have a couple of venues around here who have their name above the exit door and it's nice.
