Got a wedding to do on July 25th.

For your own good, be aware of the laws. Indoor events with food served are banned. There currently is no date set for them to reopen. Outdoor events are different, but from my understanding, this is an indoor event.

Weddings First wedding...we're doomed I"m afraid

I understand that aspect... my point was nothing will eliminate this virus 100% from existence, so I'm just trying to figure out the end goal over here from the people in charge. Learn to live with it? Get it to zero cases (not likely ever)? Win an election? Get deaths down to zero (possible but...

Got a wedding to do on July 25th.

I may have missed this, but I Still don't get where you're doing this event if they're not allowed in NJ. Hopefully no one calls to complain and gets your equipment confiscated.

Weddings First wedding...we're doomed I"m afraid

Well... as of now for NJ it's just a recommendation to quarantine. Not necessarily a law. Updated: It's also confirmed that if you're crossing borders for work related purposes, even to a state on the quarantine list, you are exempt from needing to follow those guidelines.

Weddings First wedding...we're doomed I"m afraid

Even if the study is entirely accurate, It’s not 100% effective, and for some reason I feel governor of this state will never be satisfied lol. Gonna start booking out of state only soon.

Weddings First wedding...we're doomed I"m afraid

Personally I do believe that this is something we're gonna have to live with no matter what, and it'll have to be viewed similarly to the flu. We can find a vaccine, but 30% will refuse to take it, and more than likely it'll only be 60-75% effective for those that do take it... leaving a big...

id look at this as a positive for the industry itself and that People WANT to celebrate as they did prior. Idk how you can social distance while dancing.

Got a wedding to do on July 25th.

If it’s indoors, it ain’t happening as of today w governors announcement of suspending indoor dining indefinitely. And 50%? We weren’t even at 25% capacity. Now if they did it at a private residence, they could do up to 50 people I think. Outdoor events are at 500 people starting on Thursday.

    Prom playlist?

Different approaches... my typical prom can have over 150 songs in 2.5hrs of dancing time. If anything, I'd get stink faces or girls saying "change it"i f I play the song for too long. QUick mixing doesn't allow the kids a chance to slow down in energy and just keeps the momentum constantly...

    Prom playlist?

He didn't ask how to dj, but isn't it important to mention that with these songs, when used, the effective way to use them is to play the important part. In the instance of "out west" that happens to be less than 20 seconds, otherwise the rest is useless. Naturally that would require quick...

    Prom playlist?

Not trying to be negative... but the key isn't to listen to them, it's to learn which part of the songs are essential. For example... out west... big song... but the only known part is the first verse aka the chorus. The rest is useless.

    Prom playlist?

Songs that are popular on tik tok aren’t necessarily new... they make videos w a play on song lyrics... for example hips don’t lie briefly was popular on there for 2 weeks because girls were doing a certain routine to it. No rhyme or reason as to what will be popular at any given moment

    Prom playlist?

if you're trying to play what the kids listen to in their free time, like ross and chris said... its pretty much all tik tok and spotify nowadays. There's two issues with this... as ross said, a lot of these songs are obscure to the mainstream market, and I often find there are no clean...

    Weddingwire, talk me down

I didn't realize I was mentioned in this, but I'm not MIA because of any financial impact that I'm dealing with. I do have other sources of income from real estate/stocks, and that along with disaster relief and PUA I'm in the green. Not as much in the green... but in the green. I also took this...

    Greek dance songs?

If their not doing the circle dance, which means absolutely nothing, becaase they're 95% all circle dances lol, then I would just avoid it completely. It typically means they don't know the steps and don't want to be embaressed. If they don't want traditional... then I also highly doubt they...

    Greek dance songs?

Ask the friend to ask the mom. Or at least tell the friend to tell mom to call you. Like pro said though... they may be greek but kno nothing about greek dancing. More common than youd think.

    Greek dance songs?

I really agree with this. There's plenty of information out there about the different styles of music... but the challenge is that greek music is TOO diverse and you need to know what to look for. There's no such thing as greek "wedding music"... hardly any songs actually talk about weddings...

    Greek dance songs?

By the way... I should mention the link you gave... it's not longer... it's a medley of two songs, so the more popular song (orea pou ine i nifi) is actually shorter. It's a completely different song at 2:20. Sorry lol

    Greek dance songs?

Lol I would never play that version personally, but as you can see theres tons of versions out there... if you want to know what I actually use, it's these two: View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8lIjxId5tM View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9Ypfw1WYJM I mention those two...

    Greek dance songs?

I'm probably most qualified for this being that I'm greek and 1/3-1/2 of my events are greek on any given year. Here's the thing, there is no "standards", as it is allbased on what that group is familiar with and which part of greece they're from. Most play something like this to starT: View...

Financial Relief Options For The Full-Time DJ Operators

Many states are extending their regular unemployment benefits to self employed as part of the PUA. NJ is supposedly doing 60% of your pay, minimum being $200ish, maxed at $713 for 39 weeks. PLUS the $600 for 13 weeks As far as the 10k... there were two congressional complaints made to the SBA...

Financial Relief Options For The Full-Time DJ Operators

Lots to digest here and respond to... The EIDL was closed for a few weeks, likely due to the high number of applicants in the first round that they're still backlogged on. Word is they're a few weeks behind on EIDL apps, probably because the SBA prioritized their resources on approving PPP...

Financial Relief Options For The Full-Time DJ Operators

A couple of updates for those curious: - For those self employed doing the PPP, many lenders are now taking it upon themselves to make the PPP loan forgiveness process much simpler. According to the SBA, those that are self employed are automatically forgiven 75% of the loan that's supposed to...

According to the MD unemployment site: Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) $600 per week on top of current regular UI benefits. Effective March 29, 2020 through July 31, 2020 (last paid week ends Saturday, July 25, 2020). I have a feeling he is either going to get it...
