    Fader cleaning / lube

I've used both the CRC and DeOxit... prefer the DeOxit but harder to find in stores.

What business expenditures/equipment purchases do you plan for 2024

I'm debating on picking up a 15 inch sub. Either BassBoss BB15 or RCF 905. I have two 8004s but are overkill for the smaller parties.

Do you prefer Android or IOS?

I get it. I'm just poking fun is all. There are ways around it using GroupMe, WhatsApp, etc. and you could be device agnostic. My older parentals, etc have a hard time just working different apps. Apple makes life easier on having everyone on the same platform. Apple 'likes' to hold out on...

This is a good reason for having backup gear.

A little off topic, but I use the contact cleaner anytime I working on the car and have to disconnect a sensor, a little goes a long way. I like Deoxit more that QR but QR is easier to find.

Wireless DMX (mostly for uplights.. to start)

I do agree that if it's your first time programming scenes to bring a couple of lights into your living room and play around programming. You will want to take into account fade times, strobing, and how to get in and out of scenes from your DMX software.

Wireless DMX (mostly for uplights.. to start)

It looks like Rockville has their own branded Donner system. https://www.amazon.com/Rockville-Wireless-Lighting-Transmitter-DMX-WTR/dp/B07MVSRQ41 I would opt for the Donner combo with the transmitter and receivers for those lights that don't have Wireless DMX built in...

Wireless DMX (mostly for uplights.. to start)

What wireless uplights do you currently have? The Donner systems works directly with some of the Chinese branded uplights and should make setup easier.

    Harvest of Sound

Thanks adj2ent. I currently rock RCF HDM45's for small gigs and RCF HDM45s and RCF 8004s for bigger gigs. Although the HDM45s usually do the job on smaller gigs, the bass head in me misses the true lows. Debating on picking up a JTR Captivator 212 or BassBoss BB15 for its size and portability...

First impressions of the Polar 12's

That's a bummer about the Polar 12 and Bluetooth. I've always found Bluetooth finicky at random times and this is the main reason I went with Polar 10 instead of the Polar 8. RCA inputs for backup. I was able to use the Polar 10 for cocktail hour duty. Filled the room with no problems and got...

    You’re gear isn’t that delicate

The DuraTex texture paint I mentioned before should do the trick.

Newbie question - or do I just need more hands?

Create a folder/crate in your DJ software with all intro/presentation songs. Set cue points. Then you can load the songs faster. Have fun with the transitions too. Echo out, brake the song, slam mix, fade in and out etc. Pace yourself. It helps to practice at home a couple of times. Next thing...

First impressions of the Polar 12's

You can always pan left or right on the mixer if you only feed one channel from your outboard mixer. Just want to make sure you are running mono. I found the same thing with the bass, it peaks early but I was able to get more headroom by just slightly turning down the sub. How was the throw on...

Has anyone heard of or used these?

I'm in a Pearland (suburb of Houston). We took the kiddos out to Bovay Scout Camp near Navasota. It's about 1.5 hours away. Weather was perfect. Lows in the 50's and highs in the low 80's. I'm so used to 'army camping' this all feels like 'glamping' to me. Saw some armadillos and heard coyotes...

Ha. I noticed after the camping chairs after I posted. Taking the kiddos camping this weekend.

Has anyone heard of or used these?

Yes you can. You can just place the top piece with the speaker in and bypass the 'filler' section.

Has anyone heard of or used these?

Quick update. I finally got the unit it. Pros: - Looks great and feel solid (does not feel cheap or sway around like Harbinger MLS1000) - Built in mixer has options. Bluetooth and RCA (in case Bluetooth fails) and could possibly reduce setup and breakdown time. - Built in Delay and 3 Band EQ...

    Best wireless vocal mic

I actually have the Beta 58 for speeches. It really helps for those people who hold the microphone to their waist and expect you to have great output. (Even after you tell them to hold it up close). It is bright like your said, but a little eq helps straighten that out. The one thing I do like...

    Best wireless vocal mic

I'm a fan of the Shure SLXD. It's rack mountable, you can swap out for 1/2 wave antennas. Plenty of channel options. Make sure to check the band frequencies for your local area.

    You’re gear isn’t that delicate

Sorry to hear DJ Albatross. I think you should be able to sand it down and refinish it. I had some scuff marks on my RCF 8004s and sanded them down just a bit and refinished with Duratex finish. I've linked it below. You can also check out some youtube videos where this guy does his whole sub...

    You’re gear isn’t that delicate

I'm with you but the gear whore in me doesn't let me go of gear. I now have a Limited Edition Rane SL3 that is no longer supported and a Rane 62 mixer that is no longer supported. I should have sold them off a few years back.
