How long have you been a DJ and what are your likes and dislikes about this business?

I want to. How have you listed, marketed, etc? If you find two buyers, let me know.

I want to sell it all

Thanks brother. Truth is that the last four years I have done very little. So, yeah, 35 years, but really only about 30.5 or so.

I have decided that I am done. I want to sell it all - everything - including website, etc. How do you suggest I go about this? Thanks!

    Can't find a clean version

I purchased the song from amazon.com, and break no rules by having it modified.

Weddings First 20 year reunion since they were in school!

So, the reunion was interesting. Loved the music. But, of a class of 120, only 25 showed up. Huge room, tons of food ordered, basically empty. The real kicker is that the lady organizing it was supposed to pay me last Saturday, but was out of town. I live in a small town, and she is my...

That's how I feel about the 70's, but hey! Life is like that.

Weddings First 20 year reunion since they were in school!

I'm working this weekend to build a play list for the class of 2002. I will be making a dinner music list and a dance list. What would you add to these lists?

    Confession and request for help

Right, but it's prudent to have them ready to go as well as other stuff.

    Confession and request for help

Agreed. I also ask about age ranges attending, how I can get requests from them in advance, if I can put out request cards at the tables, etc. I also like to ask what radio stations they listen too, and look at their playlists online.

Appreciate this gentlemen. You've all been great.

    Confession and request for help

I was close to calling it quits, but my phone is ringing more and more. Turns out that a rural Wyoming DJ who charges $1500 or so is in high demand. Who knew? Anyway, my confession is that I am not really up to date on music. I played a party about two weeks ago, and realized that I was...

Weddings New arenas opening for me

Thanks Jeff. That's funny, btw. I still check in. Very part time these days, so I don't have much to offer too often. Hope you're well.

Do you get nervous sometimes before doing an event?

    Every. Single. Time.

Mods, not sure why I put this in weddings. Please feel free to move it if needed.

Weddings New arenas opening for me

I have only done one wedding, and booked another one that canceled, in the last two years. I did however get a few opportunities to do announcing, something I totally love. Last night I was the MC for the second largest Demolition Derby in Wyoming. Man, I had a great time. It was very long...

How long have you been a DJ and what are your likes and dislikes about this business?

From 1987 to about one year ago - willing to work, just moved to a very small town in a very sparsely populated county - but worked a lot. I love the entertainer part. I am known for my MC skills and humor. I hate modern music (content being offensive mostly), and what the net has done to...

I'm stuck for new dance music - what are you playing - current top 5 ?

I have only seen five songs mentioned in three pages. Love DJ interactions.

    Just got a spam text

I haven't had one in years. Odd. They wanted my for a job in PA, and I live in WY. Not spam or anything.

What year do you believe will be your last year as a DJ working events?

This is it for me. I have only one to do, and that is my buddy's undated wedding. A friend of mine just asked today to dj his folk's 50th anniversary. I said yes, so I might have that one, too. Then I'm done commercially. I want to do stuff for our small town - parades, county fair, etc. -...

How many of you are quitting the business and if so why?

I am, sort of. I am no longer marketing, and only have two on the books. I no longer need the money and love my time with my wife on weekends. I might do some local jobs or donate some community stuff, but pretty sure I'm done.
