    How many of you use rechargeable batteries?

    I used to. Then I realized that rechargeable batteries require constant attention. So, after every gig , you need to REMEMBER to.... take them inside plug them in and take them with you for the gig. It's a lot less work to buy a big pack of regular batteries and keep them in your system.

    I'm at about 40,000 files. My collection includes more than songs... I have whole albums, old commercials, comedy bits, novelty songs, and movie quotes.

    Fortunately, the only time I had a request for "questionable" songs... I was at a private party (not a wedding) and it was totally acceptable with the crowd.

    It's the battle of the contracts. Only a lawyer could tell you whose os better, but I wouldn't pay a lawyer consult fee for a $300 gig. It wouldn't be worth the cost to counter sue them, either.

    I always planned to work as long as I possibly could. I will be 60 later this year and I am slowly feeling less and less connected to the younger crowds. So if the wedding market dries up for me, I will simply do more events that match my age. When THOSE gigs start drying up, then I will know...

    Nice. But if they don't have power to run a controller.... how are they going to amplify the SOUND that comes out of it? Yeah, I know...battery powered EVERYTHING.

    Look at it this way.... a smaller venue means a smaller dance floor. A smaller dance floor LOOKS like a FULL dance floor with less people.
