I'll update my earlier reply... I still love the rock n roller but in 2019, just before my last event before covid, I bit the bullet and bought a mid-range wireless mic system. I went with the Shure GLXD w/Beta58 capsule and let me tell that was the best damn money I have spent in this business. No matter how I would set up with my earlier $300 set I would deal with feedback and ringing all the time, but with this set up and the supercardioid pattern I don't have feedback anymore. Even when the speaker has the mic at their waste and I have to crank the gain. Heck at my first wedding back we had two sisters give a toast together, mic on a stand and they were both probably 3-4 feet from the mic, I had to go full bore and they were probably 20 degrees off the front of the speakers and it worked fantastically. If you're on the fence about making that upgrade, do it.

I bought a dolly that turns into a cart at Home Depot for $50. I bought 2 no flat back tires for another $50. I bought 2 3" wide Rock-n-Roller no flat tires for the front for $50. I cut a piece of plywood and covered it with rat fur to cover the body of the cart. For about $170 I have a custom cart that is rated for 800 pounds. I can bring my entire system in and out in 1 load. When we travel I can pile suitcases on top of my system. I may look like Jed Clampett going into a hotel, but getting everything in in just 1 load is one of my favorite things. 2nd favorite is my Yamaha DAC. I run straight from my business platform (like a laptop but way more powerful) to the DAC, to my speakers. My DAC has 2 mic preamps and my software has a 13 band EQ, so I don't even need a mixer or a controller for weddings.

Just curious. What did you have before?

I have em, they’re generally safe, and yes they do require a certain clientele. I charge $400 for 2 and around $600 for 4 after discounts. Know your local market... many rural areas are not familiar with these, and due to their lack of familiarity, might not allow them. There is no heat emited from the spark as they come out at room temperature. However they can leave black residue due behind, as it becomes dust like.
Just curious. What's the name of them and how much do they cost?

Let me say I love my Pioneer EFX 500! It gives me a lot of creativity and helps with a gig not be boring to me. Some have said I don't need it. I find is the trick is not to use it too much so it's not over kill.
