Okay, let me say up front, Taso's presentation slays mine but, this was my first attempt using my little DIY setup. 5-gallon bucket, 3 gallons of water, 10 pounds of dry ice. I mounted a 4" dryer vent hose onto the lid. The part you don't see here is how the ice explodes in my face before I could get the lid sealed. I also realize that I need to put this off to the right (behind the guests) and shoot it towards the dance floor. I also think multiple drops are in order (like Taso said he does). Still, I'm pleased with the result. The bride (and groom) absolutely squealed with delight, as did their guests. I couldn't have asked for a better reaction, just wish I had a brighter video.

BTW, what do you think about the lighting? I put a dimmer on the chandelier and dimmed it down to try and make the top light (Source Four Jr Zoom-600 watts) punch a little better. I'm also using another SF to shoot a larger splatter gobo. Still not sure if I want to keep the pattern shot or not. Also, for dancing I used my standard lighting rig or 2 mini-t bars, each loaded with (it's not on during this first dance) of 1 chauvet color mini, 2 chauvet 255 movers and 2 mirror scanners (total of 8 beams).

Personally, i think you need an actual spotlight... too many shadows for a first dance.

Regarding the clouds... as mentioned, the way you did it, just looks flat. I didnt get any professional photos from my event last night with it, but got some amateur content that I gathered from others on social media, and a screen shot from one of my videos. You can just see the difference in height. Also, you absolutely need to refill it as it flattens out and loses its effect.

Love how those two women made it "all about them" by running and twirling near the dance floor creating a gust of wind that disperses your effect!
