Of course I'm wrong - we always are.

Something you need to look at .. if I know I can always have something mediocre but I can get something better, then I will ALWAYS try to get something better .. and when I can't, I will go back to mediocre. This doesn't make you better ... or even good. It makes you a standby. Is that what you want to be known as? Again, he didn't 'hire' you because you were the best. He hired you because you're all that's left.

You don't even like the guy, and have even been venting about it on multiple fronts - but the second he says you're up, you jump. For the fuss you caused, you need to walk away from it. As I already stated ... if what you wrote was about me, you would never work again.

Scratching my head trying to figure out at what point he was deceitful to anyone involved in any way. You state yourself that your equipment is subpar in every way to this other entity. The client...who's organizing a charity event see's the other entity and takes a shot in the dark that maybe they would like to help out a good cause...but is completely up front with them that YOU and your partner are hired and will be the paid entertainers... so no further money can be exchanged... the entity apparently says they will sleep on it...meanwhile the client calls your partner immediately to keep him informed that the event may have a secondary contributor to the sound....no harm no foul. But you are on this board complaining that ,because you dont know the entity, you are worried their equipment will be subpar. We encourage you to just take your own equipment just in case....you ignore us.

At that point the entity backs out

You find out who they are ....you admit they have great equipment.

You and the other entity jibber jabber behind the back of the client who did nothing wrong and laugh.

You get paid a week early by the client.

At no point was he ever not paying you... or hiring someone to replace you. He apparently has reservations about your sound...but is willing to risk it since his play to HELP YOU OUT didnt work out.

This reminds me of a friend of mine. He used to be the janitor at the Private Place Lounge. He formed a committee to re open club Zanzabar. They told my partner they were gonna install 8 CV Earthquakes running on 4 qsc amps. I said people gonna laugh at you like you might as well have brought a boombox. Anyway, the guy i talked to said he had a 2008 laptop he would sell me for 900 dollars...with a rolling bag thrown in for free... i talked to my partner who said he would use it if i bought it. So it's kinda like we split the cost. The rolling bag is so nice though. Not sure what brand the computer is... but i think its got Java.

$900 .. that's crazy !! .. I've got a friend who has a place you can get a rebuilt one for $200 ...

I won't post what we're using to do this event again. We could even bring more gear so it could even be better if we wanted to. We won't because he claims that's sll he can afford to pay us. Bottom line is he's getting a deal for the money he's paying us.

Funny, I never quoted a price for an option that included something “less than capable”. Why, because it’s a reflection of you and your brand... and from the looks of it your brand doesn’t care about its image, just what someone’s willing to pay. If they say no to a price to an option that includes what’s necessary, it’s up to you to include it all for a lower price... or not do the event. Only you look bad by not showing up with the best option possible... no one will ask “why didn’t the host pay more”, they’ll say “that djs sound sucked”

No I understand him. I don't disagree with him. What we're using Saturday will be fine. Nobody will complain. We could bring 2 more double 15's and the Earthquakes to really impress the people attending the event. Just can't bring all of that for $400.

I already posted what we're using earlier. The 2 Yorkville 801p subs, 2 Yamaha DSR tops, dual 15's, Mackie Thumps for the people performing on stage, mixing board, dual wireless mics and one corded, and our 2 setups so we can play. Remember all of this for $400 for an 8 1/2 hour event.

Now to talk about what Taso posted, I understand we could offer even more to really be super impressive. The thing is as I think Taso will agree that depending on the price a person wants to pay there should be limits on what you bring to an event. My point being that Taso has a starting price of $2,000. That's a great starting price but from what he has posted in the past that you don't get everything he offers for that price. What I'm saying is you have to establish some limits. So for the amount he has paid us this is what he gets. Others in the business that know us agree with us. This is what we're bringing to the event. End of discussion.
