If you feel you don't have a thing to work on that's fine. What I see today is getting more work. We have a job this Saturday and after that the next job is the last Saturday in August. So that's a big gap between gigs. I don't know who might call between that time.

Another thing is to get the wood on the speakers fixed. Just haven't had the money to do so yet. I got to get the breakes fixed on the van.

Right now those are the 2 big things I can think of. What I like to focus on is doing a great job while doing an event so either they will have us back to do another event for them, highly recommend us to someone else, getting a nice compliment or someone taking a business card possibly looking for a DJ to do an event somewhere on a certain day.

Equipment for now we're good. No need to buy anything else. Maybe a light stand so the lights we have aren't sitting on the floor.

Based on your historical postings and where you currently stand, I think you have alot more to work on then that. :)
Those are the most pressing things I could think of. Just got a text message that the event Saturday is canceled. LOL.

Now what do you need to work on? Keep the focus.

I have to work more on following up on leads, I am bad about sending out a quote and then going silent. I am probly missing out on a lot of gigs by not reaching back out to follow-up after giving them a quote. I missed a lot of leads towards the end of my wife's pregnancy and 1st couple weeks of having a newborn so my June and July where much slower than usual. I am working on a system to help me with this though just got to get better at it.

Definitely working on adding gear on a need based basis instead of getting stuff because it is in the want category. I have to check myself at times on that. I see something and think wow I would like to have that but its still a want and not a need so it can wait until the end of the year in case I need to spend more money (taxes).

I don't know how you do things, but I respond to every email as quickly as possible, even if it is just to say that I've got their email and will respond later. I then have a premade template for every inquiry that wants pricing. The only things that are changed are the photos I include, the videos I include, and a section where I discuss anything particular to that couples event, whether it is something they mentioned, something that one should be aware about the venue of choice, etc. These emails take me literally minutes to write. To keep track I also write everything down. I have a handwritten paper with every outstanding inquiry and the date that their event is for. I check that list every night to see where I stand with each party and see if additional follow up is needed.

Me personally... I have the business at a very comfortable point... I don't wanna say it's on autopilot, but I can't think of anything other than to just keep doing what I'm doing and not slowing down. I'm about to hit 50% booked for 2020 (I have 34 events booked, and aim for 70). I didnt hit the 50% mark until September last year... so were just over a month ahead of schedule. The improvement may need to be to start finding new support staff, or slowly training... as my team is aging and they'll be looking for new ventures in life.

Have you thought about incorporating classic 70-80s House Music? I know a guy ....

Ah man...with an air tight contract...you must be raking in the dough for very little effort... Does your contract stipulate that you keep half of the fee or the full fee? either way...thats a pretty good chunk of change to pocket each time one of these events innevitably cancel or are canceled by you "for their own good"

Bravo to you sir! Dont change a thing!

I definitely get back with emails fast that's not my issue. My issue is following up after giving a quote and they have reviewed said quote. Idk if you missed the part where I said I just had a newborn lol But hey I'm not perfect I am getting better at it though. We are currently expanding and adding production services to our offerings so going forward things look great could always be better but hey it is improving so I am content. Just got to keep the ship moving in the right direction.

I didn't catch the first part with the initial reply being fast... but def caught the newborn part (congrats btw!). That was why I mentioned a handwritten paper with all existing leads that you sent info to. It's on my desk next to my computer, and I check it every night to see if any events need following up (I usually wait a week). While I don't have a newborn yet, inquiries for me can be very overwhelming at times as I'm the only one handling everything... just a couple of weeks ago I had 8 or 9 open inquiries at a given moment who I had sent pricing info to over the course of the last month or so, so keeping track was important. After a week went by I would follow up with each one... now that list is down to 1 outstanding inquiry of whom I'm meeting with tonight (all but 1 of the others booked thankfully). We all have our own methods, I just figured I'd share mine that let's me keep track of everything.

I've been doing more video, but I need to continue doing more. But I've generally been very pleased on where things are right now. I don't want to be complacent though, so I'll continue to evaluate what I'm doing and could change.

I am realizing that I need to promote myself better.
Up until now, I haven't had to work hard to fill my calendar.
But this year is just kicking my a**.
Even my boss at the multi-op is hurting for work.
