Do you use CD players or a controller and why? What do you like about what you use. Exactly what do you use?

Myself I use the Denon DN MC 6000MK II and I love it! Small unit that is easy for me to setup with my EFX 500. In the case it's very lightweight. Makes it easy to carry. Also it's has 4 channels in case you want to hook something else to it. I love the wheels on it because they are free spinning, making easy for me to mix. I just need to find out how to disable the sync button so I don't have to keep changing the pitch control to get the right BPM.

What is this, 2009?

I use a controller, Mix. Because CD players were done almost a decade ago. It's a Pioneer DDJ-SZ. I love it because it can take a pounding and has never given me a single hiccup. If there's a better controller out there, I haven't found it yet.

I'll second Brendan .. I sold all my single and dual CD decks 7+ years ago. Kept a single Denon S1200 for events, and sold it a year+ ago. I still have CD capability with my Denon Media player, but a CD has never been put in (yet).

The Pioneers are excellent units, but I wanted rack mount size and the Denon 6000mk2 is really the best with that constraint.

Mix... Are you serious, or are you just trying to divert the conversation from your Lenovo tablet purchase???[emoji1]

Do you REALLY use that controller??? To turn the SYNC on you press the button and it lights up...

... To turn it OFF, you press the SYNC button again, and the light goes out...

... which means it’s NOT syncing.[emoji1]

Maybe he thought that was an N'Sync button and he doesn't play anything newer than 1985 ...:)

I’m sure the Pioneer DDJ-SZ is a fine controller, but at 3 times the price of the Denon MC6000MK2, not likely I’m gonna have one anytime soon... or in THIS LIFETIME![emoji1] I have two of the MC6000MK2’s. Not sure if they are close to being among the best controllers because I haven’t tried ALL the other controllers. It would just be a wild @ss guess.[emoji1] But it has more features than I need, it’s the right size for me, and it seems to be pretty well made and reliable.

It comes on automatically without doing a thing and my point for this thread to get people to understand it's about what you're comfortable using. Some like Pioneer and won't consider anything else. For some Numark and others Denon. Some still use CD players with CDs. A friend of mine still uses CDs. He's ol

^^^^ There’s some craziness going on here![emoji1]

Don’t ya know you can EDIT a post or a thread title when you mess it up???

I use a Numark mixdeck express (nice beginner setup), and they sync lights up automatically too, but I just turn them off. Even though my numark can take cd's too, I do actually still have my dual cd player, just in case im doing a party where I think my equipment could get trashed.

Traktor Kontrol S4 and S2 for main boards (2 S4's, 1 S2) and Traktor F1 for the remix deck. Recently picked up a Kontrol X1 to play with, thinking about for ceremony setup, but need to pick up a sound card. They just announced the S4 MK3 being released in November, if I remember correctly. Has some cool features on the first short demo I saw.

Yeah... except I have TWO of the same controller (Denon MC6000MK2) as Mix, and neither of mine come on with the Sync button lit... I just tried them. The Sync button doesn’t light up after loading tracks in both decks either. It comes on when you press it, and goes off by pressing it again.[emoji4] Perhaps both of mine are BROKE???[emoji1]

Trust me that controller isn't a beginner controller! It's a very nice unit.
