"In Pieces". Just like Garth's career ever since that Chris Gaines thing.
Punny, very!

But given reality, that hopefully tongue in cheek (<-you pick which) characterization is only worthy of the likes of MSNBC & CNN, ya know BS:

In 2012, Brooks officially passed the Beatles as the top-selling act of the past 20 years, moving 68.5 million units worldwide, almost 5 million more than the Beatles. In May 2014, Brooks' total album sales reached 69,544,000 copies, which makes him the best-selling album artist in the U.S., ahead of the Beatles (65,730,000), Metallica (54,365,000), Mariah Carey (54,280,000) and Celine Dion (52,234,000) .

B-sharper! LOL

According to RIAA, he's still #2. RIAA measures by amount of 'wholesale' units moved and not by how much retail moves.

Gold & Platinum - RIAA

In short, it all comes down to how you present and use the numbers. Garth is just another artist (maybe even more of an Entertainer) - I was never a big fan of his and became even less of a fan when the whole Chris Gaines thing came out.

Business Insider also shows he's not on top.

I know that didn't go well for him, but he chose to step out of the spot light. I don't think the Chris Gaines debacle would have held him back.

The Chris Gains thing never bothered me at all... It gave Garth an outlet to do other kinds of music his fans would never accept if he did it as Garth... AND it gave him a chance to wear a WIG... another thing that he could not do as Garth.[emoji1]

See him live like I did in January. What an amazing performer and what a good time!

After that, you may appreciate him more...
