I'd have been home all night or performing at a different event.
DNP lists are as important as any aspect of the planning and warrant and get honest, complete attention and consideration.
A client unwilling to undertake honest, complete attention and consideration is not my client.

Agree totally.
The bride hired me because she was an intern at the radio station I worked for.
The "list" did not rear it's ugly head until she submitted the paperwork....
about two weeks before the big day.
Had I known she was going to be so "particular"....I would have declined the gig.

I too learned, eons ago, to require paperwork be submitted with substantial lead time to allow for redress.

Also, changed my contract language to eliminate any attempts to enforce such DNP lists.
