I have downloaded a bunch of the Now That's Music albums from Itunes. I have noticed on some of them there is a lot of static coming from the speakers. The noise is not from any of the equipment I have because it does not do this on any other tracks, minus the NOW albums. Even then, the noise is on only certain tracks.

For my home use, I'm using my music recording monitors, Yamaha HS8s. The noise replicates on my Mackie SRM 650 speakers as well.

Is it possible the download is corrupted? Serato DJ Pro does not flag it as such.

It's possible. I used to buy the NOW CDs early on, and never had an issue. If there is no issues with other tracks from iTunes, I'd say it was a file issue. If other iTunes songs have an issue, it may be the application you are using to play them isn't as good with .aac files (Apple standard) as it is with .mp3.

Thanks Steve. It seems isolated to just one volume (vol 63.), and is about 3-4 tracks on said volume.

If downloading it again doesn't fix the files, I'd contact their support.

The noise is subtle, but audible. I'll delete from the library and download again. If running of an Ipad, the distortion is not there.

Are you playing the songs (not on the iPad) through iTunes or another app?

I use a macbook pro... all the files are mp3.
Use to be files bought from the iTunes store came as .aac or .mp4 (their native format) and are only converted to mp3 manually. Maybe that changed.

Nope, they are still converted manually. If you can hear it on a computer - but using the same file (as in manually managed) on an iPad reveals no issues, then it's not the file. How are you playing these files from the computer? In Serato through what? What happens if you play the same song from iTunes through the through the built in speakers? What about through the headphone jack?

I only use MP3's what ever I use or Download - saves compatibility issues....

Computer is attached to a Pioneer DDJ controller. Speakers are Yamaha HS8 studio monitors. The ipad is playing playing the same file. I can hear the same distortion with headphones on playing through the ipad. I'm going to download the album again today and see if that fixes it.

I recently copied a boatload of my mp3's onto a thumb drive for my car.
I noticed a lot of them have digital noise(s)...that are NOT on the original.
It may have something to do with downloading more than one song at a time.

I'd like to know what kind of computer - and what controller - DDJ narrows it down to about 20.

Using a Macbook Pro. Bought this one new in 2017. My backup is a 2012 Macbook Pro. DDJ SR controller. I have not tried the backup to see if the sound replicates.

Have you tried to redownload and test through multiple devices? Is it one song - or all songs? On the MBP, you could test through Serato and through iTunes and through built in speakers as well as headphones.
