I offer open air and "lounge style" (attached pic below). I let the client choose... its literally just setup up a few extra poles and 3 sets of drapes... 2 minutes tops. I also offer about 8 different backdrop colors for the clients to choose from to truly personalize the experience. I dk what tent style is, but I know I'm only offering 2 options, and thats not one of them.

I did the P&D style (like Taso's above) but had a few occasions where too many people would try to pile in. Almost had guests pull it over a few times. After that, I ditched the P&D and have used open-air style ever since. I also have mine run by a technician. It costs $150 for staffing.

pipe and drape ($600ish ot get that), a table inside w/ props (moves faster than one outside..things stay neater other than the table inside lets them set down drinks) and then a table outside to hold printer, memory book, etc.

things have advanced since i did mine - I didn't buy one ($5k-8k) and started open air.

Prices were $1500 and now are more like $600, lots of competition locally...from the past few years bridal shows it seems many vendors are now DJ/PB/Photo/video and at times other services too.

Prices have come down and they now have dye sub printers than cut the strips..mine cost $1200 when I got it and the strips need cut manually (can do 4x6 or 5x7 prints natively).

I copied (with permission) what a guy in kansas city was doing.

I know many of you have photobooths. I am curious if they are open air, tent style or enclosed. I am wanting to get something but have no clue where to start.

So, PB ops, what are you running? And is there a difference in what you can charge based on the type?

Just to offer some insight... 90% teen events love enclosed booths for privacy...while 90% of weddings love open air as it looks cleaner, and you can typically fit more people since backdrops are bigger and its not enclosed.

I just bought brand new mermaid style sequin backdrops and posted them on my instagram and already had a couple of upcoming clients want to use them for their events. The backdrops are the bigger investment you should make.

I have dabbled in it. I get asked a lot if I have a photobooth to add in. I will probably have to add one at some point. My only suggestion is to have backups of everything. I have seen too many photobooths at events where the printer breaks or the laptop wont work. Most of these are the $200 a night booths and they had no backup.
