I've been tinkering with my set up (probably always will). Just thought I'd share!

I've moved to a hard case for my SZ that has SoundSwitch and my QLXD mounted underneath. And I tried the spandex table skirt to see how it looked. It took a bit more time managing cables, but I think the end result was pretty good. I'd rather move to an all black case instead of the silver hardware though.

At this venue I've used my two wash lights against the wall before. But, this was a very small wedding (about 50 guests). I had more room where tables would typically be. Instead I positioned them tight against two support poles in the room across from each other. I really liked the way it framed the dance floor a bit.

And, as usual, I was running Bose compacts in the back of the room (only 1 pictured). This space is quite large, and the acoustics are really bad, very boomy. Getting sound to the back so people can hear toasts is critical in here.

Comments, questions, etc. always welcome!

Are those K10s or K12s? I really have become a fan of the spandex table covers. Nice looking setup. One thing you might consider, have you seen any of the "Y" adapters for speakers? For small groups like that, I'll often just mount both my K10s over the top of a single sub. It would eliminate one tripod. As for the table, looks great. Don't see how you could make it any cleaner without putting a facade at the front. Great job.

Funny you ask... those are K12s, but they're not mine. I swapped speakers with a buddy because I thought I was going to have a gig where I couldn't use the sub. He's got my K10s right now, but I should have them back by next week.

And I actually own one of those Y adapters. I've used it for cocktail hour set ups if I'm not using the Bose. However, I don't really love the look - and I was the opposite of space constrained so I didn't really consider it here.

I actually like those Y adapters, but don't use them consistently. When the room allows, I actually like putting the sub centered to the dance floor then put the K10s at a 90 degree angle with each other. This is for small groups. If it's over 100, I'll almost always do a dual stand setup with dance lights mounted to each. I have gotten to like spreading the speakers farther apart and backing them up against the wall, whenever possible. It's less fatigue on my ears and seems to cover the larger rooms better.

Ross .. I like the setup, but might have spread the main speakers a bit more (or toed them out a bit) to minimize comb filtering on the dance floor ... but OH MY GAWD .. heaven forbid a cable coming out the back of your controller case !!! :)

I also prefer tops over subs, but realize that 2 KW subs might have been overkill. I really don't like the Y mount look .. except maybe outside where you're covering 2 different areas from the same spot.

Lol... sounds like you know that cable drives me nuts. I bought the case used to see if I would like using it, and it has the power strip installed that way. I wanted to put a Neutrik powercon on the other side, but there isn't enough room to get the jack installed without removing a bunch of the foam in the case.

I would have set up wider than I did, but I was sort of between the door they use for the entrance and the lounge furniture:

Despite the room being 3X bigger than it needed to be for this wedding... I didn't have a ton of side to side room to get the speakers wider. I try to be cognizant of not being in major photos like the entrance pics if at all possible. If I could have gone to the other side of the doorway without running a cable past that door, I would do it.

Actually, I plan on adding jacks to my Denon case. Based on space, I think out the back is the only way. I have no issue with cables being visible, as long as they are neat .. and yours was.

I like your table setup, but I think the one stand then top/sub looks odd.

I am a huge fan of the 181 sub, but you might be better off with two smaller subs. It may or not be more bass, but it definitely will look nicer.

Which spandex did your purchase? It should go all the way down to the floor.

I need the table cover to go to the floor, as I typically have outlet boxes or some of my gear under the table. I like the look of the spandex one Ross has, but need the pragmatism of this style (Ultimate) :

Great looking set up. I would have done a thing or two different, but we all would. Wonderful cable management, again, one thing I would have done, but nobody but me would care.... And the Spandex is good and bad, like the look, but hate the fact that it is open in front like that.

A lot of people hate the fact that most public places have Toilet Stall Doors that only go to about 14 to 18 inches off the floor, and therefore able to see someones shoes/ankles/lower legs, yet manufacturers continue to make them like that, and even most newer places have that style Stall installed.

Maybe Ross wants people to be able to see his foot work while he Performs!

I also prefer the Stall Doors to go to the ground! :)

Looks good! My vote is for bring both subs under the tops. Just idle them down! Weather you need them or not. Things that are unsymmetrical drive me crazy! Probably won't do anything for sound, and I'm sure 99% of the people and the customer would say that my symmetrical fetish doesn't amount to anything!

Also I don't like people to see my feet! And my hidden cables! And my wife's purse, and sometimes my ice chest!
